Texas vote, my thoughts only
🗳️ Texas friends — I'm registered and I'm voting blue on Nov 3. Here's why you should too. Mike Johnson already said on the radio that Social Security and Medicare "have to be adjusted and fixed" — and that Republicans "have a plan" for next year. Read that plainly: after the midterms, they come for our benefits — cuts when the trust fund runs short in 2032, or they raise the retirement age. There's an easy fix and they won't touch it: make the wealthy pay their fair share. Right now Social Security tax stops at a wage cap, so millionaires quit paying while working people pay on every single dollar they earn. Lift the cap and the math works — no cuts, no higher retirement age. Early voting in Texas is Oct 19–30. Vote like your Social Security depends on it, because it does. 💙

Email from Nathaniel Moran First Congressional District of Texas.
Nathaniel Moran 1st District, Texas Congress of the United States. House of Representatives. Washington, DC 20515 Dear Mrs. Rodriguez, Thank you for contacting me about the future of Social Security. Hearing from you helps me better represent our friends and neighbors across the First Congressional District of Texas. As a Member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Social Security, I share your concerns about the future of the Social Security program. I have heard from many members of our East Texas community about the need to protect this essential program, and it is imperative that Social Security benefits for seniors and soon-to-be seniors are protected and preserved. Retirees who have worked tirelessly for decades and paid into the Social Security Program deserve the peace of mind about their retirement benefits. As millions of Americans become newly eligible for retirement and the life expectancy increases, the solvency of the program becomes at risk. Beneficiaries are collecting benefits for longer, causing benefits to increase over an individual's lifetime. Unfortunately, health care costs further complicate the situation as they continue to rise and consume a larger portion of a beneficiary's Social Security benefit. According to the annual Trustees' report for 2025, the Social Security Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) trust fund is set to be depleted in just 7 years. Without any major changes, this would result in beneficiaries only receiving 77 percent of total scheduled benefits in 2033. That would mean a 23% cut to benefits overnight to those receiving them. That is unacceptable. Congress must work together to ensure the program remains solvent for future generations without jeopardizing those currently receiving benefits. Currently, mandatory spending programs account for more than 70% of the annual budget of the federal government, which is unsustainable. To that end, we must fully and carefully evaluate each proposal. Please know that I will keep your thoughts in mind should proposals to reform Social Security be considered in the U.S. House of Representatives.

What Americans mean
I’m getting sick and tired of being told one thing while living another. Do I know what’s true anymore? no. Do I follow every political talking point? Absolutely not. But I do know what I see. I see the price of gas. I see the grocery bill. I see electric bills. I see insurance. I see mortgages. I see working people busting their ass and still wondering if there’s going to be enough left over when payday comes around. And every election, we hear about how things are going to change. This president is going to fix it. That administration is going to fix it. This war caused it. That administration caused it. Blame this. Blame that. Folks, at some point I don’t give care who gets the credit or who gets the blame. I want America to be a place where working people can afford to live and retired can enjoy what they worked for all their life. That’s what “making America great” means to me. It means a man can work his butt off all week and actually have something to show for it. It means when you no longer can work, you don't get a hand out but get what you worked so hard for and that is dignity when your body has gave out. It means a family can take a vacation without spending the next six months recovering financially. It means you can walk into a store, buy what your family needs, and not stand there doing math in your head wondering whether buying groceries is going to leave enough money for the electric bill. It means you don’t have to be sixty years old, completely worn down, and finally debt-free before you get permission to enjoy the life you worked your whole damn life for. Because here’s the truth: We only get one shot at this thing. One life. One chance to make memories with our kids. One chance to take that trip. One chance to sit on that porch. One chance to watch our families grow. One chance to enjoy the fruits of our labor. And I don’t believe enjoying life should be reserved for the wealthy or the lucky. I’m a blue-collar woman. I believe in working for what you have. I believe in earning it. I believe in getting your hands dirty and doing your part.

Best News Ever!!!!!!
DR Ed- I have the most wonderful news to share with you. As of today I was approved for my disability (September 14). Tarajee is the most amazing advocate ever. Between you and her my 8.5 month journey is over. I wanted to say thank you to you and all that you do. You and Tarajee have been a wonderful godsend!!!! I can honestly say that none of this would be possible at least time wise without being in this community and the support it provides. Thank you ☺️
