HOP Weekly Recordings and Summaries - 2025
Hello, everyone! In 2025 we began to share the recordings and summaries of our weekly calls. Moving forward, all recordings and their summaries will be shared right here in this course's dedicated discussion threads. These weekly calls are vital for members who might not be able to join live. They also serve as a valuable resource for new members who wish to catch up on past discussions to gain insights and inspiration from the active and engaged members of our community. Our weekly calls are more than just meetings; they are a lifeline that helps everyone stay focused and active in their home practices. They also serve as a fantastic platform for support and encouragement within our community. The HOP team is honored to host these calls, sharing ongoing insights, answering your questions, and providing updates on our program. Thank you all for your continued engagement and participation. We look forward to seeing you at the next call and hearing your thoughts in this thread! Warm regards, Dr. Heather George

I've started this post on our General Discussion Board inspired by Barbara, so that we have a place where everyone can share their progress and testimonials in the program. It's a great way to see how everyone is doing and to cheer each other on! What a great support system! Share below by writing comments here to this post! Thank you @Barbara Hong @Heather George

About a month after getting the covid virus, I experienced a stroke, then a downward spiral in health. I had a difficult time getting my blood pressure back to a good levels. During that time is when I got a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease and wet macular degeneration. As blood pressure stayed under control and I found @Heather George and this program, i felt my eyes greatly improving until March of this year when my blood pressure jumped back up high. I hadn't changed diet or medication at that point. The medication did get changed to one that the nephrologist thought would help my kidneys better even though that medication did not lower blood pressure for me in the past and I gave them that information. For 2 months my blood pressure just kept getting worse and the doctors just kept raising the dosage of that same medication. In the meantime both my eyesight and kidney conditions worsened due to the blood pressure.

I hit the wrong button and sent this comment before the finish. Sorry its so lengthy! My blood pressure for those 2 months was running 200-225/95. It was scary! After praying about this matter, I woke up the next morning and decided to go back to what did work. I did talk to my PCP to make sure It was OK to just stop taking the drug that did not work and after 24 hours of not having that medication I went back on the medication that worked to stabilize the blood pressure in the past. Starting at a tiny dose and tritating up gradually. My PCP is acredited in traditional and functional medicine so there were herbs that she recommended for blood pressure also. I started at the lowest dosage and built up to max dose. I am happy to say yesterday my blood pressure at the doctor's (PCP) office was 132/78! That is excellent for me! 🤗🤗🤗 I shared here so as to not take so much class time.
Core Practices for mind... Section: Posture, Pressure, and the Pathways of Healing
@Heather George another very informative section. Until I started a draftsman job, I had perfect posture. If my mom caught us slouching, we got told to set up straight! The reminders helped us form and keep good posture. So in this section you reminded me as an adult, I need to be (regularly) mindful of my posture for good health. Thanks! 🥰

Taurine
Sharing the article link below given the discussion during yesterday's zoom meeting. Here is a summary: - Taurine, an amino acid often added to energy drinks, is making headlines after a study linked it to leukemia, a blood cancer. - The research shows leukemia cells may use taurine to grow, but it doesn’t suggest that taurine causes cancer. - Experts say healthy people don’t need to avoid taurine, but should still consume energy drinks in moderation. https://www.health.com/can-taurine-really-raise-your-risk-of-blood-cancer-11737533
