Should I Read?
I am 20 years old, currently traveling the Europe and have read many books in my life. As someone who already has a decent understanding of many things, yet still has much to learn, I would like to know what you think I should read or consume information in a different format. I will tell you what I think. I think that if you have way too much time on your hands, reading is nice. This is because it slows everything down and you can digest every single word. This allows for your brain to develop a very vivid and clear image of what you are trying to absorb. You will not forget what you read the next day. When you consume information on your device with short form content like TikTok, you may learn faster, but you will also forget faster. I feel as though it depends on the goal. If you are quickly trying to find an immediate answer on something, reading a book is not your best bet. Asking something like ChatGPT would be. But if you wanted to know the entire history of the Second World War, you are better off reading a book. This is due to the fact that if someone went through the efforts of making in a physical book, it has likely been thought through with effort. Not only that but proof read by many other professionals in the same field. Reading vs. Searching things up is almost like carbs, lol… The only time you should use the web so that it is a tool and not a hindrance is if you are out in the world and need to access information fast. Simple carbs, in the form of sugar are the same. Athletes consume Gatorade or other forms of pure sugar to get fast energy due to the immediate demand. Brainrotters who sit on their devices all day eat these simple carbs/ simple information all day and become brain obese. Polysaccharides, another word for complex carbs, is like complex information. This complex information, as explained earlier comes from books. It is far better for you in most cases. What do you think, should you read?

@Kody Hull have you heard this method ? "Zettelkasten" maybe give it a shot. I learnt that the way we are taught in school to remember things or learn things is not efficient. On the other hand some people thinks that Zettelkasten is a better way to organise newly acquired knowledge. Please let me know if you tried it and let us know how you went ? I love to know Cheers, In your corner, Sean Lo
