importance of following signing instructions
A notary was assigned a closing that included a Power of Attorney (POA). Before the appointment, the notary received detailed written instructions, notes in the file, and even a visual example showing exactly how the POA needed to be signed. Unfortunately, those instructions were not followed. The scanbacks were uploaded late that night, and only then was the error discovered. When the correction was communicated, the notary became upset despite having been provided with clear guidance beforehand. We know you can make a mistake from time to time. What defines your professionalism isn't whether we make an error, it's how we respond when one is identified.✅ If you were in this situation, what would you do? Would you acknowledge the mistake, make the necessary corrections, and ensure the documents are completed properly? Or would you refuse to correct the issue even though the instructions had been provided in advance? I'm genuinely interested in hearing how other signing professionals approach accountability and professionalism in situations like this.☺️

@Ashley Martin Well said and 💯agree. Admitting a mistake is taking accountability and then follow through to get the document(s) corrected.
Do you travel with a mobile printer?
Hi, I'm Mariangel, a scheduler at TCSS. 👋 We had a seller package that was almost finished, and the notary had already completed the signing. At the very last minute, the title company realized they had missed two documents (5 pages) and needed them signed ASAP. Thankfully, the notary had a mobile printer in their vehicle, so they were able to print, sign, and resolve the order on the spot! It saved the day and avoided a trip back. I’m curious to see how you all work: Do you keep a mobile printer in your car for these types of situations, or do you prefer to print everything at your office/home before heading out? How often does having a mobile printer actually save a closing for you?

Yes, I travel with a full mobile office as well. I have used my mobile printer while at a signing several times. Having everything on the road saves everyone time.
