Welcome to Kids Book Academy…
WELCOME TO KIDS BOOK ACADEMY! 🎉📚✏️ I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’ve written zero words or you already have a story in progress, this is the place where your children’s book goes from idea to finished book. Here’s what you can expect inside this community: ✔️ Daily lessons + writing guidance ✔️ Mistake-breakdowns to help you avoid the traps most new authors fall into ✔️ Support for outlining, writing, editing, publishing, and launching ✔️ Feedback on your ideas, titles, and pages ✔️ A group of people cheering you on and moving with you This is the FIRST time I’ve opened up my full process — the exact tools, techniques, and insights I’ve used to publish 70+ children’s books, including a national bestseller. If you’re new here, say hello below! Share: 1️⃣ Your name 2️⃣ The children’s book idea you wish you could write 3️⃣ What brought you here We’re building something special — and I’m excited you’re part of it. Let’s make your book REAL. 🚀📘

@Emmi Linnasalo thank you
✨ Today’s challenge…
In one sentence, write a book idea where an unexpected object becomes a child’s greatest friend. (Example: A lonely crayon teaches a noisy chalkboard to make music, helping two kids create the brightest art show ever.) 👇 Drop your one-sentence story idea!

Hand soap that’s always used then washed away, or forgotten completely, until the science teacher grabbed him and made him the main show for experiments! Everyone loves experiments!!!
Be honest
What’s harder for you right now: Writing the story or figuring out the illustration process? Children’s authors struggle massively with: A) Finding illustrators B) Layout decisions C) Page count structure D) Trim size D) Formatting for print

I’m still in the beginning of things, so definitely the story at this time.
And the Illustrations Begin!
I met with an illustrator yesterday! We are moving forward with the development of the main character to see if we can capture my vision and the mood of the book. It is actually happening!
And the Illustrations Begin!

This is amazing! Congratulations
A quick reset question for writers tonight…
Quick check in before the day ends. If you stripped away publishing, money, and validation for a second and wrote purely for impact, who would you be writing for right now? A child who feels unseen A parent who feels overwhelmed A kid who needs confidence Or maybe your own younger self… Comment with just one sentence: “I would write for ______ because ______.” No overthinking. Trust your gut. I’ll reply to all of these personally.

I would write for the quirky and intense kid because they can be the sweetest and most interesting people but get left out because of their intensity.
