@Sean O'Connor I'd recommend two separate groups for that.

@Adam Finan yeah, we need to add that.

The Future of Skool Affiliates
In the future, can we 'upsell' our leads to annual subscriptions and get 40% of the $999?

@David Cavanagh it's not an option at the moment.
Update: Referral link now goes to the home page
Hey team, this was the most requested change: "Make the referral link go to the home page so it's easier to refer people". We just shipped this change. Your old referral links still work, and they still go directly to the sign up page. The new link you can copy/paste goes to the home page. Enjoy!

Need Custom Links to Home & Features Pages
Hey there! Excited to refer people to Skool. However, the default link doesn't send them to the Skool homepage or anywhere they can see what it is or what it's about. I know it would take a while to build a custom link feature (or the ability to add a query string "?" ending to any page's URL), but maybe you could at least give us 3 default links for now: 1.) Signup (the default link right now) 2.) Home Page 3.) Features Page (https://www.skool.com/features) That would really help when promoting! Thanks! 🙌

Good idea! What page would you want to refer people to most of the time?

Affiliate Link To Homepage
I promoted the current affiliate link to email list and got some interesting feedback which in turn made me investigate the "flow" a bit more. So the affiliate link goes right to a form with the 14 day free trial and there's not context to what the person is signing up for. Even though I made my list aware of Skool and the features and benefits they were still a bit confused by landing on that particular page. They didn't get the chance to learn about the tech on their own before they were asked for a credit card. I think if the affiliate links went to the Skool home page it would convert a lot better. Sam is excellent at keeping things simple and I think the home page is so concise and perfect that new visitors would sign up for a free trial instantly if they just saw the home page first.

@Trent Grzegorczyk we're working on it. It's harder than it seems, but we'll have a solution for this in the next 7-days.

Questions
How does Auto-Affililate work in this case.
Referring to the statement in the 101 mini course "Auto-affiliate: If somebody creates a group from your group, you get paid". May i understand how this Tracking method is working in the following example: Someone signs up the first time in Skool through joining my group. A few months later he joined several other Skool Groups (like "Skool Community" or others) and wants to start now his own group. Since it's easy to switch between different skool groups: Who does get paid - the one that "first signed up" the member or the last active Group from where he clicked "Create a group"?

@Kai Renz the create group from group auto-affiliate thing overrides the attribution, but it doesn’t act as an affiliate link. If you clicked link A, went to Skool community to create a group but didn’t do it, left the site, came back to the website later - link A still has the attribution. Make sense?

    @Trent Grzegorczyk yes.
Any chance you could backdate affiliate signups from community?
Love the new auto affiliate feature! Over the past couple weeks I've had a few people tell me they've joined my community and then started a Skool community. Any chance you could backdate affiliate signups from my community? Completely understand if it's a no, but worth a shot! Excited to be in the affiliate community.

Sorry, the system doesn't have that historic data. It's only for referrals moving forward.
  • 3 likes • Aug '22
@Ryan Fletcher you can still refer people to Skool while you're on a free trial. You can't refer somebody if they're already in a free trial, unless they cancel their free trial and create a new one using your affiliate link.
Direct Outreach Temlate
Can you give us a solid direct outreach template? Like maybe with some images where they can see skool on the first email.

What's the context here? How are you direct outreaching to these people? Who are they?
Affiliate Data
Will there be plans for more insight data for referrals, like a graph or a chart to see what day(s) you got a lot more affiliates than others? Possibly a history further than 30 days for those that like to stare off into the abyss

Haha I'm sure we'll add to it over time. However, we don't want to add lots of stuff for no specific reason. If people are using it, and something is clearly missing that's blocking them from being able to understand/do something — then we'll add it.
Quick question for the Skool Team!
Hey guys, I'm looking forward to promoting Skool though I am curious of one thing. If someone signs up with my referral code, but pauses their membership, do we get that affiliate attribution when they reactivate it again?
