Alternate to OpenAI Function Calling
In the class "Building Applications in LLM", there is a lesson regarding OpenAI function calling. Since openAI is not paid, I have tried to simulate the same behavior for Hugging Face Mistral model. However HuggingFace, as of now does not support function calling from models. A round about way of doing it is to input a system prompt based on user prompt. This system prompt will generate output as JSON, which can then be used for function calling. https://github.com/salonibhagwat/AI_Projects-main/blob/main/AI_Projects-main/openai-functions/HuggingFace_function_calling.py Please check this file for the code. Please share your feedback.

@Danny Gerst hi i checked this post you pointed me to. The models used in the example are not openly available and operates under a different pricing model, reflecting a collaboration between Mistral AI and Microsoft. Also some models are too large to have free inference endpoints and would need to be deployed. My example above was specifically for free open source models but thanks for letting me know that similar features are available in paid models of hf.
gpt3.5 turbo model is not working
Hello. In the langchain module, the davinci model is used which has been deprecated. I tried gpt3.5 but cannot get it to work as I am on the free tier of openAI. Is there any way to access a model from openAI which will work with the free tier. Just for training purpose.

Hi @Dave Ebbelaar I have rewritten the examples in the LangChain tutorial in Level3. Since OpenAI was paid, I have used the Hugging Face Mistral-7b-Instruct to carry out the same exercises you did in your tutorial. I would love if you could take a look and give me your feedback. The changes are in the "quickstart_guide.py" and "youtube_chat.py". I have changed stuff only relevant to gpt. Rest everything is the same. https://github.com/salonibhagwat/AI_Projects-main/tree/main/AI_Projects-main
