Day 63 - Lyon
@Ave Paasuke you were right!! We had the best time training yesterday. Off into the woods on our walk/train and some really cool retrieves. I think its more interesting for him to do harder retrieves, I'm going to start fading the food, I started by doing two retrieves in a row before giving him food, will see how that goes. He is so keen to play he randomly does dramatic sits to get me to throw the dummy, it's hilarious. Did some hunting, I'm using the dummy for that now too instead of the ball, again will see how that goes.

Day 81 - muzzle training
It’s raining heaps here so we needed something easy to train under cover. Muzzle conditioning it is. Oreo thinks it’s great fun haha Also made the dogs go for a walk in the rain. Not impressed 🤣 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcQH48HRnA-/?igsi=MTVmanc0M2lwbGM4Nw==

Very cute! Muzzle training is one of those things that seem smart to do but I never get around to buying the muzzle. 🙃
Day 80 🥳 - conditioning and little heeling
Another day of conditioning. I’m actually soooo bored with the program now but I do understand that we need to build it up slowly. It takes me about 20min 4 times a week so I feel that’s all we train atm. I’m also being a bit dramatic 😄 Couple of heelwork steps in the end for some fun. Moving back in the middle position because he keeps trying to turn his head to look at me from the side and that makes him hop 🐰

I mean...20 mins! Let's take a moment to be dramatic!! Ugh!! That's a big program, it's bound to be boring. I'm impressed with your commitment 😇

@Ave Paasuke I agree - 20 mins scentwork feels nothing like 20 mins of conditioning,
Day 62 - Lyon
Offtt testing me today, he's been wild around other dogs and people, honestly having Lyon on lead can be like flying a kite!! He's wants to speak to everyone and just flings himself around. I'm not overly worried but I'm aware the excitement could flip into frustration. A bit of condition training at home and some heel on our walk and then it was training class where he was wild as a hawk but managed some nice heelwork and food refusal. The long stay was non existent 🙈 I know the inconsistency is age appropriate....I can't wait until he is a year old, 5 months to go 😱

@Ave Paasuke 🤣 same
Day 61 - Lyon
am - conditioning stuff Lunchtime - hunting and retrieving pm - longest walk yet, only a wee bit of training stay and heel. Such a good day Still working on Lyon understanding he has back feet, I think it needs a few short sessions over one day but he is improving. Had fun on our long walk, that was 1.5hrs in the woods, he is 7 months now and I don't expect him to grow much more so I think I can take the brakes off a wee bit 2 or 3 times a week?

@Ave Paasuke I will film our conditioning exercise attempts, before the end of the week. I suspect my mechanics are a problem for him in a way they weren't for my last dog, she was big so I'm wondering if that's the issue. I did have a wee dog aswell but he was slower moving than Silver or Lyon.

@Ave Paasuke I'm on it...I definitely approach it similarly to "normal" training. I felt like Silver was so good at it and now Lyon is here to let me know I need to do more learning 🤣
