Preserving mark-ups across estimates
Hey team! @Bryan Kaplan, I wanted to ask about adding in a function to preserve line item mark-ups when new estimates are copied from existing estimates. As a fixed-cost builder, we can and will play with our mark-ups if it helps to achieve a goal or reduce costs further. Some of our estimates are incredibly long, and if I've changed individual mark-ups, it can take a long time to make sure they match in the new estimate before updating anything else. They have to match to make sure the two estimates start as apples-to-apples. Perhaps an option to "Preserve mark-ups in new estimates" vs "Default to project mark-ups", or something like that. Is this a feature anyone else would use? Let me know your thoughts! Ryan.
Bulk Delete is LIVE
We've just released the batch delete function on the estimates builder. You will see a selection box beside each row in your estimates, and when selected you'll see a "Delete" button on the left side of the table footer. You will be prompted to confirm the delete action and like our expenses table, you'll have the ability to undo the delete action for a few seconds. @Ryan Melbourne

Awesome, thanks @Bryan Kaplan
Batch actions in estimates
Hey @Bryan Kaplan! I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but I'm wondering what you think about allowing batch actions in the estimates? More specifically, I'd really like to be able to delete multiple line items in a single action. Almost every new estimate that we create starts as a copy of another, similar project. Sometimes, the most similar project is still very different in scope and can take quite a long time to delete any/all irrelevant line items one by one. Thoughts?

That's a good question. I was trying to think of another function while I was writing this post, but couldn't. Let me think on that tomorrow when I'm working on some estimates and let you know!
Options in Estimates
Hey, how are others using Buildwise to show options in their estimates (i.e. dywall ceiling versus t&g)? Bryan is there a specific function in Buildwise for this?

I typically just present the optional "upgrades/extras" in the "Exclusions" section of the proposal. It makes it clear that the cost for that option is not carried in the proposal, but they can see the description, and additional cost/savings, for it.
Client Database
Hey @Bryan Kaplan! As far as I can tell, Buildwise does not save any client info. If we are putting together new a new proposal for an existing client, do we have to enter all the client info again, or is/will there be a way to select from a previously entered list of clients? Thanks, Ryan.
