Trophy Truck Edit 🏆 🛻
What do y'all think of this edit I did last week for a Baja 1000 trophy truck team?! 🤔 It was extremely bright outside so a lot of the shots were slightly overexposed unfortunately but I tried to take lemons and make lemonade! 🤷 Gear used: Canon 1DX Mark 2 Sigma Art 24-70mm Polar Pro Variable ND Filter

Very cool. You did a great job bringing the footage down from overexposure. I was going to say I didn't know you did drone footage too, then the helicopter at the end. How cool. I've not been in a helicopter to shoot before.

@Cody Henkel That's awesome. Always good to have more footage than not enough.
Live FREE Q&A??
Hey fam! 👋😁 I was thinking... would it be helpful/valuable for you to have a live 30 min Q&A session weekly to help you guys out with your video content efforts?! 🎥 LMK!! 😎

@Cody Henkel not on a Wednesday. That's my long day of zooms. 9am to about 6:30pm. Pacific (there's even a 6am but I don't usually go to that one, damn those east coast people)
The current BEST camera for the money!! 📷🤩
Ok guys, I want you to picture this for me 🖼️ You're a beginning videographer/business owner and you actually took my advice about becoming proficient with your iPhone's camera... 📲📷 You've MAXXED out your iPhone's specs. 📈 And you're ready to buy your FIRST VIDEO CAMERA!!!! 🤩 THIS camera by the good folks at Sony is what you want to start saving up for ($2,000). 💰 In my opinion, there isn't a "perfect camera" out there for most people... but this thing is pretty damn close 😂 Included are some shots by this camera. Unreal value for the money, guys. 👍

@Cody Henkel Yeah the 85mm f/1.8 is a nice one, but definitely bulky, so I don't use it a lot.

@Cody Henkel Yeah, I felt the A6000 was the perfect camera to learn on. I put it through it's paces for sure. I used it a good 5 years before I upgraded. One of these days I'll have to look up it's click count as I'm sure it's quite high. One of my favorites from Pirates I took with the A6000 was of the old codger animatronic in the rocking chair at the shack before the first drop. It's a notoriously hard one to shoot because it's incredibly dark in that spot. But one time I was on the ride and a boat wouldn't go over the first drop so we were backed up. The boat I was in ended up right next to the old codger animatronic. I wasn't planning on shooting any photos on that ride, I was just going to enjoy the ride as a nice 15 minute break from the rain that day. Little did I know I was going to be sitting next to the animatronic for 45 minutes. So I took advantage of the moment of the boat not moving and was able to get a great photo of him. And then even after they evacuated the boats ahead, they still wouldn't go over the drop, so the Disneyland fire department was called out and we had to do an evacuation that involved them tying the boats together and having people evacuate row by row by stepping into the rows ahead, onto the front of the boat and into the boat immediately in front until you reached a row next to an evacuation point. So I also caught a great photo of one of their fire department guys explaining to the young mom and child in the row in front of me how to safely step forward and into the boat ahead. It was the coolest evacuation experience I've ever had. They were so apologetic about the experience, and I thought it was the best thing ever, the evacuation point led us through the locker area for the servers at the Blue Bayou restaurant and exited out near the New Orleans Square bathrooms. I got to have an experience most don't get, so I thought it was amazing.

Having made videos for over 8 years now the question I get asked over and over again is: “Which camera is best for me?” The best camera is the camera you have on you most of the time! So the first camera you should learn how to use is your PHONE!! Inspiration comes at the most random times! Learn how to use the tool you always have on you! And look how good you can make your phone footage look nowadays! 😱

@Cody Henkel Yeah. I remember when I first tried some long exposure shots for light trails I still hadn't bought a tripod yet, a bunched up sweatshirt served as a makeshift way to prop up the camera to try out the technique, then I invested in a tripod.
