Throwback Thursday with Oris
So excited to share this beauty- the Oris Artelier Date from 2010. I've been stalk-watching this gem on Chrono24 for nearly a year. 4 price reduction notifications and then it dropped under $700(!). Seller motivated-wanting to get an Omega. The gold indices on the grey two-tone grey face. The center grey has a sunburst effect which changes with a wrist roll. I love how slim it is - perfect for business wear. Have an awesome Thursday! Specs Movement Swiss automatic (Caliber 733, base SW 200-1) Case Material Multi-piece stainless steel Case Size 40 mm diameter Dial Slate grey with a guilloche pattern and a date window at 6 o'clock Crystal Domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating inside Water Resistance 5 bar (50 meters/165 feet) Bracelet Stainless steel with a security folding clasp

@Darren Poesel well the series8 uses a newer high beat movement that’s also anti magnetic I believe it’s the miyota 9050, 9051 and 9054 . It’s a higher beat rate than the older movement used in my signature series which I believe was a Miyota 9012 plus the addition of the anti magnetism is very nice , plus the newer movement has a 50hr power reserve compared to 40hrs from the older one .

@Darren Poesel no worries I’m still learning every day , a lot is just differences between an upgraded model and older technology .
"The Watch That Started Your Journey" Challenge (CLOSED - Winner Announced))
They say a man never forgets his first real watch. It’s rarely about the price tag or the "prestige" - it’s about the feeling of weight on your wrist and the realization that you were finally keeping track of your own time. It’s the piece that transformed a watch from a tool into a milestone. Starting today, we’re kicking off a 7-day challenge to uncover the watches that sparked your "obsession". The Challenge: "The Watch That Started Your Journey" We want to hear about the timepiece that started it all. This isn’t necessarily your most expensive "grail" watch; it’s the one that carries the most history or story. Was it your first paycheck purchase? A gift for graduation? A family heirloom passed down by your father? Or maybe the rugged piece you saved for months to buy because it represented the man you were becoming. "What was the first watch that made you feel like the day didn't truly start until it was on your wrist?" HOW TO JOIN (Super easy) Drop your story in the comments under this post. Use this quick format: 1. The Watch: Brand and model (if you know it). 2. The Origin: How did it find its way to your wrist? (A milestone, a gift, or a hard-earned reward?) 3. The Meaning: What did that watch represent to you at the time? 4. The Legacy: Does it still have a place in your collection today? 5. The Visual (Optional): We all want to see the watch haha. If you still have it, drop a wrist shot or a photo in the comments with your story. HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKS - Challenge will run for 7 days (starting today until Jan 23rd) - Post your story in the comments of this post (not separate posts) - Our team will personally pick the winner at the end - Winner will be announced next week Friday Jan 23rd - Winner gets a surprise gift from Antonio šŸŽ WINNERS WILL BE PICKED BASED ON - Detail and quality of your comment (70%) - Thumbs up from others (5%) - Paid members will have plus points. RULES & LIMITATIONS - Must be Level 5 or higher to win - Free shipping (USA only; forwarding addresses accepted)

The watch the started it all for me wasn’t mine , but my fathers , it was an old model Bulova Devil Diver . I don’t know what ever happened to it , but as a kid I remember my father wearing it everywhere, everyday . . . My father was a old school dad , drafted into the military, went to ranger school and raised my brother and I like a drill instructor, everything was yes sir , yes mam growing up , but one important lesson I never forgot was my father telling me ā€œfor a man the first impression is the most important , and in life you never get a second chance at a first impression, and the best way to make a good first impression is always being on time , therefore every responsible man should own a good watchā€ and of course to him on time meant early , because ā€œon time was already late ā€œ …. it wasn’t my first purchase when I started collecting watches but was one of my most meaningful when I purchased my New model Devil Diver because it reminds me of him and the watch he wore everyday , it may not be the same as his , but it still means the same to me
