My first crack at midjourney is proving to be amazing and frustrating but I believe this course will give me the knowledge to control and hopefully master image gen. What I'm experiencing so far is that it's essential to create a series of scenes that are consistent and this is where I expect nano banana will help me craft a series of shots to then take into video. I've set myself a 10 seconds social brief titled The rat race where I will be editing a fast paced promo vid for Nike for practice. I'm honestly so pleased to experience the struggle in getting the right shots and video as it confirms that you still need to use creative skills and experience to get decent content. I had a conversation with a creative the other week whilst in London who said at the moment we are going through what he calls a race to the bottom, with non creatives using AI to put out below par creative and there are big brands doing this. He said this this was initially concerning but now believes it gives more opportunity for considered and well edited, crafted creative to stand out and I love that take. AI gives us so many opportunities but the phrase 'nothing worth doing is easy' still applies to those who don't want to join the race to the bottom Here's my journey so far. Along way to go, including manual editing and motion graphics but I'm feeling inspired. Thanks for putting this course together Cameron I can't wait to see where it goes.

AI stack efficiency
Hey all! I'm embracing the dark side and building my AI stack today. I have a midjourney sub and am looking for a platform that gives me access to nano banana for refinement. Also looking for an upscaler but don't really want to add magnific to the stack just for upscaling. Higgsfield looks cool, gives me nano, an upscaler and bonuses such as veo 3 and Kling. Combined with manual editing I think I might have enough bases covered with midjourney and higgsfield subs. The question is Runway, do I need to add this in aswell or will vid gen offered through midjourney and higgsfield be good enough? Looking to start doing short from content, social cuts etc

@Cameron Pierron thanks for reply. I think I'll slip Runway for now. Signed up to higgsfield, it has an impressive amount of models to use but I can see me burning through credits if used for video. Just going to use it for nano and upscaling for now. I'm working on a self inniated brief to practice some of the stuff you're teaching. Absolutely loving the content so far, just what I needed to get started. I've not got to anything useable yet with my scenes throwing out very weird movement but I can see how breaking it down into smaller iterations will give me more control. Definitely going to need relaxed video creation in midjourney. These failures give me hope, before starting this course I was slightly concerned about anyone being able to jump on and create content (marketing types in my office desperate to produce their own creative). I'm so glad to find out it's not easy
Pencil AI
Hey all. Has anyone ever used Pencil AI? I've been battling the usual legal and compliance concerns for the last couple of years at work. Pencil has been presented as the only complaint image/video gen that my company is willing to entertain. I work in motion graphics/social media. Will it surprise me?

@Moe Murdock I've seen moon valley it looks ace. Unfortunately our AI governance is controlled by marketing and not creative. That's why we have landed at Pencil

@Sherah Danielle by no means am I promoting Pencil 😅 my top level take is that it's not great especially as it's being sold to me for image gen. It has performance marketing AI features which is what I suspect the reason for my company going for it but it's being wrapped up as the only image gen AI we are comfortable in using. Not cool, was hoping someone had used it and could tell me it's not as bad as it looks
Glad You’re Here (Read This First)
Hey, welcome! 👋 I’m really glad you’re here. This whole thing — the AI Filmmaker Lab — is about experimenting and figuring out how to make AI films feel cinematic instead of just… AI. We’re gonna learn together, share what’s working, what’s not, and push each other to make better stuff. ►Where to Start 1. Introduce yourself. Head over to the Introductions thread and make a quick post. Who you are, what got you curious about AI filmmaking, and maybe what you want to create. It doesn’t need to be fancy. 2. Head to the Classroom and watch "Create Your First 5-Second Cinematic Shot with AI". After you say hello, jump into this short beginner-friendly course. It walks you through the simple process of creating your very first cinematic AI shot from start to finish — perfect if you’re brand-new and want a quick win. 3. Join the Dailies Challenge. Once you’ve watched that course, the best way to grow fast is through the Dailies thread. I encourage you to create something every day — a single image, a short clip, or even just an experiment. The more you post, the faster you’ll improve and find your cinematic style. ►What to Expect Every week, new workflows, trainings, and insights will drop in the Classroom to help you level up your craft and make your work stand out. That’s it for now. From here, share your work, your experiments, even the messy stuff. This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about moving forward and growing together. Glad you’re here. – Cameron

Yoooo! Nice to see a few heads here! I work at big corporate with brand characters. AI is on lock down at work, can't continue to live as an AI novice whilst waiting for work to get with the picture. Have enjoyed what I've seen from Cameron over the years so here I am. This is going to be fun 👊
