Spotted on the cam this morning
I don't think I've ever seen a car parked at the top when there has been snow on the ground. Maybe someone got lost? Looks like it's some kind of marketing stunt? Now they're stuck. Someone is snapping pics.

@Maciek Napierala it keeps Moving further out. Open Snow thinks could start Dec 21st, but only shows 7” over a few days 😢

RIP, Olancha?
Now that 395 bypasses Olancha, is it destined to become another Inyo county ghost town? Other than the Jerky store and the Mobil station, there was never much there to begin with. I remember the old diner, but that closed years ago. Back in the 00s, the Mobil station used to be my first stop for gas when making the drive north.

We used to stop at the diner. And I loved driving through all the big trees in spring and summer. I don’t miss the slow drive getting out and past Crustal Geuser. Did they increase the speed from 55 on the Expressway??? That really bugged me.

Need a place to park
I’m planning a hiking trip from Tuolome Meadows to Devils Postpile and looking for a few days to park my ride in town. My trip is from 7/15-20 and I’ll be taking public transportation from Mammoth to Yosemite. Thanks
