It is all worth it!
I swear sometimes I think I simply love to torture myself but I know how great exercises like this are not only good for your overall health & longevity. But also the improved ability for me to be able to express myself. That is my reason.

It's an excellent exercise. My gymnastics coach has a very similar one for me. I have to go way lighter and still working to go that far (I can only bend over the back of a chair). Congratulations Kiki. That's amazing!
Mobility Goal Check-In 🧠💪
If your back feels locked, your breath gets shallow. And when your breath is shallow, your movement stays tight. Here are 3 back-opening moves I’m using right now to feel stronger, lighter, and more free when I dance: 🔹 Downward dog push-ups 🔹 Back bridge (aka wheel pose) 🔹 Wall walks 🎯 My goals: • Hold back bridge for 3 minutes • 100 downward dog push-ups (no dropping) • 10 clean wall walks in a row ✅ Practice Tip: Start with reps or a timer. Doesn’t matter how deep you go—just be consistent. Tag me or post in the Movement Lounge if you’re working on any of these. 🌀 The more you unlock your back, the more your movement opens up—on and off the floor. Prompt to add below post (Skool feature): What movement are you working on to unlock your body?

These are amazing! Thanks Kiki. I started taking gymnastics to work on some of these (spins, jumps, back tuck). You are doing so great!

@Kiari Kirk That is a goal. I did it while harnessed. Right now, just working back bends to go to back walkover, back handspring, front roll, front handstand. The gym has a spring floor and lots of trampolines and mats. It's hilarious that some of my classmates are 15 and 20 year olds. Improving slowly but on the right road.

Hi all. Rosemarie from LA. Dancing is my joy. My latest thing I've been working on is LINES! Finishing them, making them beautiful. Always knowing that the line continues infinitely. Making sure I absolutely hit them. Like as if the dance was a series of pictures (like the stick figures you can draw in a book and flip through). Lines, lines, lines...______ I follow Sergio Trujillo on Insta and in his choreo for the Kiss of the Spider Woman trailer you can see it in the moves J Lo and the other dancers hit. Every one of them.
🌎 The 7-Day Public Dance Journey (Day 1)
Ever wondered what it would feel like to dance in public, fully seen, with no hiding? That’s exactly what I’m testing in this new challenge. For the next 7 days, I’m dancing outside in public spaces—no stage, no studio, just me, the music, and whoever happens to be around. The goal? To push past fear and step into confidence, freedom, and joy in front of others. For Day 1, I chose “Lucky” by Luchane. It’s a Britney Spears cover, and Britney’s ballads were a huge part of my childhood. But Luchane’s voice lifts the song into something soulful and raw, pulling out emotions in a whole new way. It also connects me to the sounds I grew up with from my grandma—jazz, soul, gospel, blues. Those sounds feel like home. Here’s the twist: it’s also the hardest style for me to express. It demands vulnerability and technicality, which always scared me as a hip-hop dancer first. But I leaned in. And freestyling outside with that song reminded me why this journey matters—it’s not about perfection, it’s about showing up. Learning to settle in the fear instead of running from it. ✨ Your Turn If you had to pick one song that feels like “home” for you, what would it be? Drop it in the comments ⬇️ (And if you’re brave, take it outside and dance to it this week!)

Can't Stop the Beat - Hairspray. It just brings me such joy since the moment I first heard it. I'm not sure if I would take it public yet but it is my go to song to make me happy.
