@Keris Marsden Your barista sounds lovely - what an inspiring idea! 🤣😍
How do?
Hope you all had a fabulous festive few days? I got struck down with a virus the minute I shut my laptop and have only just started to feel human again today 😮‍💨 Nothing like a fever to help you appreciate not having a fever 😂 Interestingly my mind was 100mph for most of the week. I couldn't eat, sleep, move, meditate, nidra or do anything other than alternate between Netflix and suffering. Yesterday loads of tears came, I watched the trailer for Goodbye June and was sobbing 😭 not sure I can manage the film! Guess I might need to do some allowing but there's a definite resistance and an absolute urge to clear out every kitchen cupboard, deep clean my bedroom and reorganise my wardrobe 😂 So that's me, how are you all doing?

@Norma Watson It's interesting what you say about tidying - I wonder if sometimes the difference is whether it's your own stuff or other people's? I think I often feel driven to tidy up after the family as a subconscious excuse to avoid feeling or expressing something (anger?), but when, rarely, I allow myself the luxury of seriously looking after and tidying my own things, I begin to find my real self and feel more relaxed. In her book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying" Marie Kondo writes that "tidying is a dialogue with oneself" - you get to find out who you really are by feeling which of your possessions spark joy - your body "tells" you when you touch them. (Is that maybe a bit like a body drop?)
Reminder - Nourishing Natter 7pm Tonight
Morning all, Just a quick reminder we have our nourishing natter tonight. I'll be doing a short dive into emotional allowing again and some helpful tips on what to expect 💕 And then we share our experiences this week ☺️ For new members I encourage you to join and always protect this time ongoing. We don't meet enough in nourishing communities these days and our nervous systems really need it 🤝 A place to be yourself - not a mum, partner, employee, teacher, business owner, nutritionist, fixing friend, etc Just you. It's also a chance to meet everyone, share your worries, wins and see what insights others are gaining on this journey. Everyone here will also show you something you may have not seen in yourself. See you later 🫖🥰

I did manage to join the session! Thank you for sharing and helpful ideas. I am inspired by how you care for your mothers - I have never regretted all I tried to do to help and comfort mine, although it was sometimes difficult. I am only at the beginning of the programme, but I am finding it quite hard, not just convincing myself make time for it, but specially because I'm so "in my head" that I'm usually barely aware that I have a body (seriously - I hardly ever look in the mirror which would remind me who I am), and am lucky enough not to have any significant physical problems. My difficulties seem to be 99% mental: lack of confidence and self-dislike. I am wondering whether Mindful Body is the right programme for me.

@Shona Cherry Thanks Shona! x
Hi
I came here after being inspired by the amazing retreat in Portugal in September😊 Looking forward to finding my way around the technology (I don't use social media except WhatsApp!) and learning and sharing new ways of living better with Keris and all the community Rose xx

Speaking my truth and being comfy with judgement
A wee story… I am attending a two day government meeting in Glasgow next week with counterparts around the country. A dinner is being arranged. I dislike these things, particularly when I really don’t know anyone, but I thought I can go on my own terms and leave when I want to. Then a suggestion was made for a 3 course festive thing which is fairly pricey and I just thought, no, this is not for me. I never eat that much food, it will be boozy, we have a full day meeting the next day, I don’t believe we should use public money to pay for this and the menu looks crap! All in all feels very conflicting with my values and preferences. So I said no. Respectfully. And I’m imagining what people with think of me (or high may or may not be true) and not trying to push that away. They can have opinions, and I will be just fine choosing what’s right for me. It feels like relief and anxiety at the same time.

Shona, that's brilliant (both dealing with an unwanted invitation and feeling inspired by nature) and Edel, what a useful idea "I don't want to" instead of "I can't"...
