Anoplotrupes stercorosus
There were many of them, heading up a tree towards some mushrooms. No chance of getting a stack. This single shot turned out nicely, though. @Peter Boswell (following up your impressive stack of the same species w/ purple highlights).

@Peter Boswell thanks. They remind me of cars with blacklight underneath 😅

Because of the high temperatures during the heat wave earlier in the year, this beetle succumbed to the high 40s that we had in the greenhouse and I’d forgotten that I’d kept him until today. I did a couple of stacks with auto function on the Z9 but this was a 40 shot stack done with a focus rail and the 2:1 100mm laowa lens. Obviously in hindsight I should have probably done double that amount but I can do that next time

Must be some Geotrupidae (dung beetle). The purple iridescence is beautiful!

@Peter Boswell thanks, I got the correct family then. I recently photographed the very same species (Anoplotrupes Stercorosus) in the forest, but "only" got blue iridescence.
Nature's perfect sleeping bag.
I was lucky enough to catch this little guy napping right inside the flower. To be honest I kinda woke him up. Someone need to guess what He/She was trying to say me......🤣 It was quite chalenging to shoot. Beacuse, the weather was extremely windy and rapidly jumping sunlight from f/1.8 to f/11...😄...if you know what is that mean. Canon EOS R50V Canon EF 40mm f/5.6 1/2000sec ISO 1600

Beautiful bee, nicely captured!
There's always something smaller...

Thanks @Peter Boswell ! I did not see it before I looked at it in editing. It is heavily cropped and one of the rare cases where the Fuji X-T5 40mp sensor came in handy.
Mexican fungi with what looks like a weevil
I don't think it is a weevil, but that's what it reminds me of. Walking back from a day at the hotel pool ( well, pool bar) I got chatting to another hotel guest who mentioned this particular fungus that was growing on a bridge handrail. Anyway, she pointed it out to me, next morning I was back there ( sober this time) with my camera and as luck would have it the beetle was sat on it, cool as a cucumber. OM1 mkii OM 60mm Flash and diffuser 1/100th ,f/13 200iso single shot.
