I’d like to get to know the people behind the runner. What makes you tick, what drives you, what you get up to other than running. Nothing detailed - as an example this is my standard social media introduction: Being born in 1966 makes me sound ancient, which I guess I am, but I was around for England winning the World Cup and privileged to be part of Villa’s greatest era. Other than that, yeah I guess you could call me old! But I’m content with life so all is well. I’m a single dad to two lads who both have special needs and after divorce in 2014 I later gave up a 34 year career to become a full time parent/carer. My loves are heavy metal, classical music, sharks, Aston Villa and Stourbridge FC. If you’re not into these I won’t hold it against you - and I run I and draw, take photos and write poetry.

I’m not training for anything but when I have had an enforced break I tend to use this half marathon training schedule to get me going again. I’m still getting back twinges when I sit down so as I’m easing back into week 1 it will be 3 miles on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. I generally only use the plan for the first few weeks then I go back to random mode 😀
