No Meeting This Week + Structural Changes
Hello all - this week I am moving and unfortunately won't be able to hold a meeting tonight. We have also decided to make a few changes to the structure of our live meetings: Over the past few weeks, I’ve been reflecting carefully on the direction of this work. What has become clear is that this project needs to live inside something larger and more sustainable. I’m developing Deconstructing Christian Nationalism into a larger project that will be available as a podcast series, and I want the community component to be aligned with that ecosystem rather than running as a separate standalone group. Because of that, I’ll be closing this Skool space in its current form. This is not an ending of the conversation though, far from it! We are just restructuring to broaden the scope and reach more people. The live discussions and deeper engagement will continue, but they will move into the new membership structure connected to the podcast launch in the coming weeks. As founding members, you will receive complimentary access to the new community tier when it launches. You helped shape this from the beginning, and I want to honor that. I’ll share more details as soon as the new structure is ready and would still love to arrange another meeting or two with anyone who wants to continue talking about this topic and I would love to get your feedback on the podcast topics! Our conversations have meant so much to me and this team, it has truly opened my eyes personally to what is possible and the difference we can make. Thank you for being willing to step into something early and looking forward to continuing the conversation! Stay tuned! Christina

Thanks for complementary access to the new community tier of your future podcast, Christina. I'm not sure what that means, but I look forward to finding out. I hope you plan to continue and expand on the conversation we had last week about fighting Christian Nationalism and misogyny (aka the War Against Women) by pressuring Democratic Party officials to go on offense by introducing (and hopefully passing) legislation based on reproduction science that correctly places the responsibility and accountability for unwanted pregnancies, and therefore, abortions on men, not women. Men are the impregnators. If men only impregnated women who wanted to have a baby, then there would be no unintended pregnancies and the abortion "problem" would be solved! I would like to see Christian Democrats of America expose Republicans political motivation for not truly wanting to solve their "problem" with abortion. They want to continue using it as a social wedge issue to get votes from one issue voters. Tomorrow, I plan to send the email I wrote to Jerrad Christian, the Democratic congressional candidate in Ohio, which I forwarded to you last week. I would like the rationality of holding men accountable for the unwanted pregnancies they cause become a Democratic Party position for the midterms in November. Happy Travels❣️

Intro and Our First Poll!
Welcome, everyone! This week is our intro week. We’re using this time to build the group, spread the word, and start getting to know one another before we officially begin next week. Please reply to this post with a short introduction (or anything you’d like to share), and let me know what you’re hoping to get out of this community. That question is also the focus of this week’s poll. 📅 Our first LIVE session will be next Wednesday, January 28th, at 6:30pm CST. The group will meet on Google Meet, and the link will be emailed to you ahead of time. I have a sample curriculum planned, but there is so much we could cover. I want this to be responsive to what you most want and need, so your feedback here really matters. These are the three core areas we’ll be working through, with room to expand based on your input: 1. Issue by issue We’ll take a clear, grounded look at key issues such as: - the “pro-life” argument — how it’s been used, manipulated, and harnessed for votes and money for decades, and how that led us to where we are now - what the Bible actually says about abortion and being “pro-life” - how these issues intersect with the Constitution - LGBTQ rights, civil rights, freedom of religion, economic justice, and more — examined through biblical, constitutional, and Christian Dominionist lenses 2. The key players We’ll walk through the history of how Christian Dominionism gained power over decades, including: - the long-term strategy behind it - pastors, politicians, church leaders, Christian media figures, and insiders you may not be familiar with - how these networks worked together to shape the present moment 3. Historical precedent We’ll also zoom out historically: - how the Gospel began being manipulated for power very early on - how Christianity was used by the Roman Empire, the medieval church, and other systems of control - and how those patterns connect directly to what we’re seeing today Please post your intro below and say hello — I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all.

Yes, thanks for asking: 1) Please address the big issue of our profit-based health care system. It's immoral in my reading of the Gospel to profit from other people's pain and suffering, and to extort money from them before providing needed medical care. European governments provide universal health care for all their citizens and visitors, if needed. I 2) Please address the big issue of for-profit prisons, cash bail, and other glaring inequities in our criminal justice system. 3) Please address the big issue of gun violence. The lack of basic gun licensing laws, and the failure of the government to enforce the laws that already exist, prioritize gun owners convenience over school children's lives. This seems immoral on its face.

@Christina Forrester Great! I'm glad those urgent topics will be included. Jesus was nothing if not a social justice advocate. He died for his efforts to empower the masses, like Ghandi and MLK.
Update on our Upcoming First Meeting
Given the recent extreme weather in many regions and the ongoing state of emergency, I’ve decided to postpone our first Deconstructing Christian Nationalism gathering by one week so we can meet at a more settled time. Like so many, I’m also in an area where I have been navigating the effects of the current winter storm emergencies, with power outages and internet outages as well, so I want to ensure we gather at a time that’s accessible and grounded for us all (and I certainly don't want to lose internet or power in the middle of our meeting!). Thank you for your understanding and if you are in an area affected by the storms, please be safe and let us know in the comments if we can pray for you! In lieu of start week, I will be sharing another poll and some talking points so please participate in the "warm ups!" Please feel free to pass this along to anyone who may be interested in joining us. I’m looking forward to next week - hopefully a warmer one!

That's a wise decision. We need to pray for justice and peace for Minneapolis and the victims of DHS predators. In lieu of our meeting, please contact your US Senators this week to tell them to vote against additional DHS funding until more transparency and accountability are added to the legislation.
The Good Samaritan
I'm really happy about this group. I've been a member of CDA since 2016. It's urgent and important to spread the true teachings of Jesus, not the "prosperity" gospel, but Jesus's two commandments, to love God with all that we are, and love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus's parable of the Good Samaritan explained how he wants us to love each other.
