Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I am an adult swimmer, former swim parent, and a high school swim coach. The thing I am grateful for is the support I get from the parents trying to make it easier on me through active volunteering, supplying snacks for meets, and this year recruiting. I live in a small town in area where swimming is not the go to sport. A fellow swim coach, who has many more years of experience organized our third HS swim clinic which has been our most successful event. Through this process I met a parent who stepped to help recruit swimmers and just as important, Swim Officials. I am so deeply grateful for her willingness to take the time to help out with this important matter. Ask your coaches what you can do to help your team, even if they say nothing it is much appreciated to know that parents want to help in some way.
