Build a Greeting Bot - Code Walkthrough for FreeCodeCamp
I just recorded this last night. I know from talking to a few of you that you are getting ready to start the modules. Hopefully, this helps get you started. πŸ”— Click Here for the FreeCodeCamp Workshop for you to get credit πŸ”— Watch it on YouTube for explanations. πŸ‘‰ I also placed all the step-by-step breakdowns in the classroom with all 15 steps. (After step 6, I think I figured out why my mic was making me sound like I have a lisp) Comment down below if you need help on a step.

What's your favorite part about developing?
What is your favorite part of developing? Is it planning? Designing? You enjoy the bugs? I feel like one of the things I really enjoy about developing is solving a problem and having real users enjoy using the solution you created. For example, when I was creating the Army Flight Logbook, I was just planning on using it myself. I really didn't think about it from other users. I knew our company flight line had a Microsoft Access version. I know that people have used Excel to track their flights, but it just got really cumbersome. I wanted to see graphs. I wanted to track when I would become current in the airframe. I wanted to see when my busy months for flying were. If I could see a pattern of what flight hours I could expect the next year. And so I look at the App Store, and I used to look at it religiously. But now I check on it every so often. It's a good feeling knowing that the application you built is being used, that new people are purchasing it, and that you're moving up in the rankings on Apple. It's also nice seeing the reviews people leave, and that's really encouraging. Especially because I didn't ask any of these people to make them. They all did it of their own accord. iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/flight-logbook-army/id6469672888 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frontlinedesigns.armylogbook But for me, that is what makes developing fun - seeing others use the feature or application you built and enjoy it. iOS and Android were built with React Native, while the website was built with ReactJS.

I really enjoy solving problems right now. I am not the most creative person, so it's sometimes hard for me to come up with my own thing. I can follow steps and instructions but if someone gives me a blank canvas I go blank.

I think I would be as I continue to learn. Since I just finished up html and working through Java I don't know where I would be but I feel like I'm closer every day.
