What is your current build for a character your playing?
Hello guys. I am curious to hear what characters you are playing at the moment. I'll start with a short intro to the setting 🙂 I am currently playing in a campaign set in a homebrew world named Usalia. In this 2nd campaign, in this world, this time we are playing in the continent Emerise Empire - a desert land filled with uneasy alliances between great clans and a heavy dose of honor and traditions. And more importantly, a new resource called Unobtanium, which has groundbreaking properties for magical Tech. Something the people of Emerise is not interested in, since it would completely change their way of life. This combination is halting technical progression, wich have left opportunity for outside influences, whom promise power and wealth to the Emperor of Eremise. This is a recipe for nationwide conflict and a legitimate reason for other Clans to challenge the current Emperor for the seat of power. Aight, so. I'm playing a half elf Swashbuckler rouge/warlock. I was not ment to, since I really liked @Sage Crane swashbuckler battlemaster with double bladed scimitar. Alas, at some point in the story, we freed an old spirit from a tomb, and I used that opportunity to get a ginie patrion. Here is the build Rouge (Swashbuckler) 4 lvl. Warlock (ginie) 5 lvl. pact of the chain Invocations: Eldritch mind gift of the ever living ones ( we play with no auto full hp on long rest) Mask of many faces Feats: Lvl 4 rouge - elven accuracy In combat: Plays like a melee rouge. Going in with the spell shadow blade and booming blade and tries to land one good hit, with the help of elven accuracy/advantage from familiar or being on dim light or darkness. That's 4d8 + 2d6 + 8 (and we do like crits) And then move away to try and trigger 2d8 from booming. Out of combat. I'm high charisma with expertise skills to back it up. My little imp buddy is so great for scouting and infiltration. Basically all my spells from warlock goes into infiltration and espionage.

I’m just about to debut my plasmoid monk for a level 2 adventure. He hangs out in a barrel and is the sidekick of a giff ranger. He has a few daggers in case he needs to throw something, but otherwise he’s just a naked blob. He’s called Goo-do… because he a goo that does judo. I’m not sure which subclass I want to pursue. Probably either elements or open hand (pseudopod?)

I have just built a halfling cartographer for a level 3 oneshot. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Resource management
Are you (or your players) more likely to end an adventuring day having saved their resources and not used them all or blown through all their resources and ending the day on fumes?

@Dr.Evelyn Szeinbaum I find my players are very conservative with their resources, to the point where I feel they leave a lot of them on the table after a harrowing adventuring day
The Elemental Gauntlet One Shot
5 combats, no rests. A local wizard is messing with the boundaries between the elemental planes. It's opening random elemental portals and the nearby kingdom wants it to stop. Guards we're sent to the (Shockingly small) wizards tower but none have returned. The adventurers guild is giving 2,500 GP to anybody who puts a stop to the chaos! RULES: 1. If you've already played a game with me I ask that we give other players 48 hours to join before you join. I want to make sure everyone who wants to play with me gets a chance. 2. 2024 PHB Only. RAW. This is because I'm focused on making up to date content and I need as much practice in the newest ruleset possible. 3. 5 Players. Character level 12. 2 rare items of your choice. Point buy. 4. Oct. 10th at 9am PST. This gives our European friends a chance to join (I hope) Tech: VTT: Owlbear Rodeo Voice: Discord

New Forgotten Realms content
Anyone get the digital versions of the new Forgotten Realms books on dndbeyond? I’m checking them out now, and excited to debut my drow knowledge domain cleric in a oneshot on Monday…

@Sage Crane awesome. There’s a lot there. I didn’t realize how many backgrounds and feats there would be! I’m also thinking of playing a noble genie paladin if you ever try that elemental one shot again…

@Sage Crane ugh. That is annoying. My wife and I are looking forward to playing with you sometime. Either that oneshot or another!
Things you don't think about
I'm GMing for a group of new players. In session zero it was agreed that with everyone being new there would be no PVP. We have been playing for almost 2 years now. Last session one player started accusing another player of hoarding an artifact that they are looking for. The accused player has a cursed bag of gold that they are very covetous of. This caused some awkward silence and it took me a minute to figure out what was going on. The other players thought this was PVP. Which I can see how that could be construed. I explained that this was just role playing and role playing between characters is great. It had never occurred to me where the line between role playing and PVP was. Next session will be going over what is PVP and isn't PVP. What are some things you've never thought to explain because you've been playing for so long?

Meta gaming. This is a term that gets thrown around a lot. I think some people don’t consider it at all and some think everything is metagaming.
