Hey everyone! Yesterday's technique workshop is now live in the community, and it was a great one. We covered one of the most misunderstood aspects of guitar practice: how to actually build picking speed without burning out your hands or hitting a wall. The focus was on alternate picking speed development using the Sprint & Rest method. Short bursts at increasing tempos, with structured rest between each sprint. Think of it like interval training at the gym: sets, rest, progress. To make it musical from the start, we used the intro to Hermeto Pascoal's Chorinho pra Ele as our workout pattern. A real melodic line that also happens to be a perfect vehicle for training string crossing, left-hand efficiency, and picking mechanics across multiple strings. The recording, the PDF score, and the Guitar Pro file are all available here 👉 https://www.skool.com/jazz-guitar/classroom/1d6ddcc6?md=1eb7a9c370724f669d4797a9b5944aa1 Thanks to everyone who joined live. Great energy in the room, and some really good questions. @Lawrence Szabo @Richard Soukup See you next month for Part 2. 🎸
