I speak English, French, and Spanish fluently but I now live in the Netherlands… and I don’t speak a word of Dutch. Like many of you, I wear a lot of hats: I’m a husband, a father of three beautiful kids, and I work a full-time 9-to-5 job. Life is full. Life is demanding. And trying to build something new on top of all that? It’s not just hard it’s exhausting. But I knew I had something to offer. The problem? No experience. No portfolio. No local network. And no idea how to break in. So here’s what I did:I went out and looked for companies that spoke the languages I do speak. I made cold calls. I knocked on digital doors and real one's. And because I had nothing to show yet but everything to prove I offered to do my first project for free. Why?Because I need that first win. That first chance.
