Contest ideas?
I had a ton of fun running the penny auction last month (592 comments) and last comment wins contest in December (301 comments). Should we do more of those? This is, as you may be aware, a GROUP. And while my vote counts as 1 million votes, I still value your input. Have you seen any cool contest in other groups you belong to? If we did run a contest, what kind of prize should we offer?

@Nick Bandy Shout out to your list in a P.S. (with an upsell of a full week of P.S. shout-outs for 99€)? Then offer the basic deal to all participants for 69.67$. 🥵

@Nick Bandy Or dispensing a unique email idea for the winner in the fantabulous or flirtateous Nick Bandy-style. Offered to every participant for 15$ and offered as a "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything E-Mail related" collection afterwards for 42$.
🏦 What was your biggest business expense last year?
It's everyone's favorite holiday--US Tax Day! For my biggest business expense? I was about to put "ads," but then I remembered it's not an expense...because they pay for themselves. Second biggest? I think it's a tie between BerserkerMail and Manus. Again, are these really "expenses" if I can't run my business without them? 🤔 Literally can't send emails without BerserkerMail...and Manus does so many things I can't even list them all. Look at this one-page website it built to help me study tourist Japanese for our trip in May: Learn Japanese with Nick-sama What's that one big biz expense you just can't quit?

@Nick Bandy Yeah, my wife is very frugal and investing such amounts for coaching seems almost reckless.

@Nick Bandy yes, but not as much to make my wife happy. It's at a ROI of ~5 (which I think is amazing), but it comes with opportunity costs. My wife would prefer If I would just do the "safe" school teacher gig.
For agency owners and freelancers who want to scale from $5k to $20k
This is not for folks trying to get their first client, or even second client. This is for folks who've already hit $5k per month in client revenue, are at capacity, and want to scale to $10k, $20k, or more per month. This is also not for people who want to "retire" from clients, like me. However, if this thing existed a couple years ago, there's a good chance I would have used it. The creator of this system went from $5k per month to $40k per month on Upwork. (I would have said this at the start, but I don't think you would have believed me). The guy who made this wants my help turning his system into a real, living, breathing offer for other people to use. But making offers is hard. I don't want to invest the energy unless there's huge demand. Keep reading and tell me if this sounds hot to you. It works by removing the biggest bottlenecks for finding clients: Finding jobs and bidding on jobs. Meaning... You never have to search for jobs again. You never have to read job posts again. You never have to write proposals again. And perhaps most interesting of all, in this guy's "in house" version of the offer, he doesn't even have to REPLY to clients. The AI does it too. Yes, it involves AI. I rolled my eyes when he told me his AI writes proposals that "sound human." Then he showed me. This guy literally gets messages from clients COMPLIMENTING HIS AI PROPOSALS FOR NOT BEING AI PROPOSALS. lol But seriously, they're good. I use AI a lot and notice some of the "tells" but honestly they're better than 95% of the proposals I get, so why does it matter? If you're drooling over the possibility of just...WORKING with clients and not FINDING clients, let me know by voting here or dropping a comment below. If and ONLY IF there's enough demand, I will personally "test drive" this offer and UN-RETIRE from Upwork (temporarily) to make sure this works. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

For your confidence: I didn't reply not because the offer is not interesting, but because I am still a Freelancer/Agency noob (not yet earning 5k from it).
Do you close every deal?
One of my offers (my favorite product, if I'm being honest) helps "un-ghost" dead conversations. 👻👻👻 Could be with potential clients, affiliate promo partners, people whose podcasts you'd like to appear on...it doesn't matter. Works in emails, DMs, any medium you can think of. I know it works, because I use it every week. It turns totally dead, lost opportunities into paydays. My question for you is: ➡️ Give me a reason you WOULDN'T buy this. Because I can only think of a few reasons why, but maybe I'm missing something.

🔥 AUCTION OVER! THE PROPOSAL THAT RETIRED ME FROM UPWORK
The auction has ended! Congratulations to @Gasper Crepinsek for taking home my very own "Upwork Retirement Proposal" and a big stack of bonuses for the very nice sum of 35,000 pennies! JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, HERE'S WHAT WENT DOWN... Get the exact Upwork proposal template I used to land $159,000 in low-stress retainers while I work 15-hour weeks and travel the world. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ I don't freelance on Upwork anymore. Not because it stopped working. Because ONE proposal template worked so well it retired me. 👉 $159,000 in contracts. 👉 Clients who hired me over 50+ other applicants. 👉 Clients who APOLOGIZED for wasting my time when they couldn't afford me. 👉 $12k retainers from people who'd never met me. Now, I hire people to push the buttons while I look at graphs and tell jokes on Zoom calls. In May, when we go to Japan for 2.5 weeks, other people will keep my machine running while I eat raw fish next to Mt. Fuji. All from Upwork clients. The place everyone says has zero high-paying clients. 🙄 Here’s what we’re gonna do. Grab a walker. Amble on over to the cafeteria and snag a cup of prune juice. Then meet me in the day room and let’s reminisce about the good ol’ days when Upwork was still Elance… 🎉🎉 Welcome to the Upwork Retirement Auction! 🎉🎉 Winner gets the Upwork proposal template that retired me from Upwork—plus, I’ll show you how to “reverse engineer” it for any job your heart desires. Bids start at one cent. Bids can only go UP by one cent. AND... EVERYONE who bids at least one penny in the auction gets a free bonus: The Profile Rescue Kit, which'll fix everything wrong with your profile (that clients actually care about) so you can stop obsessing over which angle to take your next headshot pic. 🤯 But wait, there's more...lol. 🤯 IF... If we get a ton of action on the auction, we'll unlock truckloads of additional hot bonuses for you to stuff in your pockets. One more thing: You're getting the exact proposal structure that pulled six figures out of a platform I no longer compete on.
