Today I was listening to a podcast about living in the present — and something the host said stopped me in my tracks: “𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙬𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙤𝙜𝙨… 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 — 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩.” And it’s true, isn’t it? Our dogs don’t dwell on yesterday’s mistake or worry about tomorrow’s challenge. They’re fully here — with us — in every tail wag, every look, every moment of connection. That presence is something we feel in our bones. It’s calming. Healing. Real.They remind us to slow down, to be right here, right now… and to find joy in the simple things — a walk, a quiet moment on the couch, a shared look. 🖤🐶 Maybe that’s one of the greatest gifts our Shepherds (and their awesome mixes) give us —a daily reminder of what it means to truly be present.
