Why I Publish Books Instead of Relying on My Job Only
Today I spent another four hours commuting to and from my full-time job. I'm grateful for my career, but that commute reminded me why I'm so passionate about self-publishing. Companies change. Policies change. Life changes. The one thing I can control is building assets that I own. Every book I publish becomes something that has the potential to keep helping readers and generating income long after it's written. That's why I'm investing more of my time into publishing instead of relying on my career alone. I'm not trying to escape my job. I'm trying to create more options for my family's future. If you've been putting off writing your first book—or you've already published one but haven't fully committed to growing it—let this be your reminder that every book is another asset you're building for yourself. 👇What motivates you to publish? Is it extra income, sharing your knowledge, building your business, leaving a legacy, or something else? I'd love to hear your reason in the comments.

@Krista Brea I think most people are capable of writing a book. At its core, a book is like someone sitting in front of you, sharing an idea, an experience, or knowledge they possess. The difference is that you can’t interrupt them or change the direction of the conversation. You simply listen until the end, exactly as they intended to tell their story or share their thoughts. In a normal conversation, a single question can completely change the direction of the discussion. In a book, however, the author remains the guide, leading the reader’s journey from the first page to the last
🚀 Leveling Up Has Its Perks!
Last week I had a great 1:1 strategy call with @Robert Redden - He was able to book a private call with me because he reached Level 5 in the community and unlocked access to my personal calendar. You all know I'm pretty protective of my schedule. Between my full-time job, family life, and everything else I have going on, I don't spend all day on Skool. My time is valuable, so this is one of the ways I give back to the members who are actively participating and serious about growing their publishing business. Here are some of the rewards you can unlock as you level up: ⭐ Level 2 – Guest Expert Replay Events ⭐ Level 3 – AI Prompts to Speed Up Your Book Writing ⭐ Level 4 – My Self-Publishing Checklist ⭐ Level 5 – 1:1 Strategy Call with Me ($60 Value) The best part? You don't have to buy anything extra. Just comment, engage, ask questions, support other members, and contribute value to the community. As you participate, you'll naturally earn points, level up, and unlock bonus content along the way. What level are you currently at? Drop it below! 👇

Featured Book: The Publishing Relationship Trilogy
Most of us in this community are authors, or aspiring authors—and fellow community member @John Elcik has put together an incredible series of books that explores the relationship between the author, the publishing journey, and the readers we hope to impact. His series offers plenty of thought-provoking insights and encourages authors to think differently about their craft, their message, and the connection they build with their audience. If you'd like to support John, you can grab the ebook bundle on Amazon for just $6.99. 👉GET THE BOOK NOW ON AMAZON He's also looking for members to join his launch team, where you'll get early access to upcoming books and have the opportunity to leave an honest review to help support the launch. Interested in connecting with John directly? Feel free to reach out via email: johnelcik@msn.com

📚 Did You Know We Have a Community Book Directory? One of the best ways to support fellow members is by checking out the books created by authors right here in our community. We've built a Book Directory filled with titles submitted by members, making it easy to discover new books, support other authors, and connect with fellow publishers. Take a few minutes to browse the directory and see if anything catches your eye. You might just find your next great read! 👉 Want your book featured? Drop a link to your book in the comments below and I'll add it to the directory for FREE. 👉 Please limit submissions to ONE book per author so the directory stays manageable and easy to maintain. PS - I do offer a featured book post for $10 for a 24 hour pinned post. OR for $50 a one week pinned post + email to the community. Let's support each other and help our community authors get more visibility! 🚀📖

Tracking the Success of Your Book
Many authors make the mistake of measuring only one thing: sales. Don't get me wrong—sales matter. But they're not the only indicator of whether your book is moving in the right direction. ➡️ For example, your Amazon BSR (Best Seller Rank) can tell you how your book is performing compared to other books in the marketplace. As your rank improves, your visibility often improves as well, which can lead to more impressions and more opportunities to make sales. Running Amazon Ads? If your ads aren't getting enough impressions, it could be a sign that you're targeting keywords with little search volume or that you need to expand your keyword list. Getting impressions but very few clicks? That may be a sign that readers aren't connecting with your cover. Remember, your cover's job is to earn the click. Getting clicks but not sales? Now it's time to look at your Amazon listing. Your title, subtitle, description, reviews, A+ Content, and overall positioning may not be matching what shoppers expected when they clicked. The point is this: Sales are the final result, but there are several metrics that help explain why you're getting those results. The more you understand the numbers behind your book, the easier it becomes to identify what's working, what's not, and where you should focus your efforts next. 📚 What metrics do you pay attention to besides sales?
