Frozen starter
I saw Sandra’s video that said it is really hard to kill your starter. One of the ways is if you accidentally bake it. Can you revive starter that you accidentally froze?

Actually yes you can revive a frozen starter. Let it thaw and then feed it as normal. It ma take a day or two to bounce back.
Happy Fri”Yay”!!
Let’s celebrate our wins from this week!! Big or small wins. Something you learned…something you made….something you changed…anything.

@Wendy Hawkins welcome! In the classroom tab, there’s a lesson on equipment and supplies. So do you have a starter?

Milling Grain: Newbie with questions
What milling grinder do you use and how would you rate it? Where did you purchase? Pros and Cons. Why do you mill? What grains do you mill? Anything else I should know? Thank you.

@Terri Rosett I just mixed up a batch of whole wheat Artisan bread using hard red berries and it didn’t need more hydration.

@Cheryl Hulseapple dm me the links of your sandwich breads and we can convert them to sourdough. I can show you how in the next coaching call.
Ask your BBW Coaching Call questions here
Ask your questions here about sourdough starter, sourdough dough, any of the course breads, things that you want to learn more about. Then join us in the BBW Coaching Call Wednesdays 11 AM central live on zoom (link is in the calendar for premium members). Replays will be available so if you’re not able to attend, we will answer your question in the call. . And if you are new here and have a lot of questions, go to the classroom > go to “Your First Loaf” course> start here.

@Terri Rosett so I use 1:1:1 as my base and then add a tablespoon or two of flour. That is if we’re starting with about 50 g and I know you mentioned in the coaching call that you prefer weighing in g. So it works out to be 50:70:50 grams but again, if you’re starter was already thick, then you could do a one to one to one and start there. So now that you’re starting with a thicker starter, you’ll make adjustments.
