Hey! When I go into clamp, I feel like my opponent can just push my knee down and easily get back to side control. Do you have any advice on how to prevent that?
@Eddie Kosta when I go into the clamp, I’m able to get into the correct position at first, so the setup feels good. The problem is that my partner can easily break it by pushing my bottom knee down to the mat with their hand and shoulder. That completely collapses my structure, and I lose control from there. Even if I try to keep going or adjust, they’re already transitioning back to side control or half guard before I can react. It feels like I’m either missing control with my legs or a key detail in timing or positioning that’s allowing this to happen.
