Broadhead choice
So for my bear hunt this year these are my 3 choices of broadhead to choose from. A 3 blade razorhead, a 2 blade single bevel grizzly, or two blade ace express. I also have the two blade single bevel razorhead but at that point I think id rather go with the grizzly I dont love how small the razorheads are. I may even consider a vpa 3 blade. I really like 3 blades but I dont have any vpa right now. I haven't shot the ace yet but I hear really good things. The grizzly and razorhead both shoot like a dream. Took my first deer with one of these Grizzlies. Which of these would you choose?

I've used Bear razorheads, wensel woodsmans, zwicky deltas and another 3 blade that I can't remember the name of for bears. A sharp 3 blade leaves the best blood trail but if you hit them good they won't go 50 yards. I've had them drop after doing a back flip on the bait. Good luck!

I started bowhunting seriously in 1965 All bows were traditional then. My first morning I hunted in the Necedah National Wildlife refuge in Wisconsin and got basically surrounded with running deer! I ended up getting one shot at a standing forkhorn, didn't pick a spot and shot high. I WAS HOOKED and have been ever since. I'm almost 78 now and looking forward to my next hunt, Turkey in about 2 months.
To wrap or not
What's everyone's thoughts on leather hand wraps? I've made a few and like the look and feel but wonder if they'll hold moisture next to the bow. Thoughts?

I like the feel of a leather wrap and have put them on all my bows for the 30 yrs. Never had a moisture problem as they dry out quite quickly.
Reflection on season
So now that my archery deer season has come to end I reflect what was a season of no shots released but still a great season. I had gained great information on land I hunt. Information of the deer in that area found bedding and new travel areas. Close encounters but no good shot opportunity's. So now continue to practice and can still go attempts squirrel through 2/28. Then try spring turkey and pheasant next fall

This past season was my 65th and it had it's highs and lows but mainly highs. Every new sunrise is worthwhile seeing and makes my day. Shot a couple animals and missed one but it is what it is. The excitement of being close to nature keeps me going. Turkey season is 4 months away and I will be ready!

My season has gone pretty well, I shot that buck in MN and waited for a bigger one in Iowa. I saw a lot of deer in Iowa but it wasn't until the week after Thanksgiving it really got interesting. Doing all day sits for 8 straight days was tiring but in that time I probably saw 30-40 different bucks and passed on all but one tall 8 pt which I proceeded to miss. Hunting does in Mn now and headed back to Iowa when late season opens, hope it isn't too cold! -5 f today and -10 tomorrow.
