This is an original acoustic folk/Americana ballad inspired in part by the film Once. It's a reflective song about life's experiences, human connection, and finding someone to share the journey. The recording features some wonderful musicians: - 🎸 Randy Juhl – Lead vocals, acoustic guitar, songwriting, production, mixing & mastering - 🪕 John Timko – Mandolin - 🎻 Kelly Sible – Violin - 🎵 Bob Rostollan – Upright bass - 🎸 Luke Cyrus Goetze – Lap steel guitar (recorded remotely in Germany) I recorded, mixed, and mastered the song at Heart Street Studio, applying many of the techniques and concepts I've learned through Mastering.com and The Reverse Engineer program. This project was particularly rewarding from a production standpoint, especially working with the acoustic instrumentation, balancing the vocal, and creating a natural, spacious mix. hi, I've been with TRE since 2022 and I'm happy to announce these years have paid off. Probably my best mix and master to date ... I finally finished “Send Someone”, which is scheduled for release on October 23rd. What stuck with me was the connection between two musicians who both had unresolved relationships in their lives. Their romantic connection never really happens, but through music they form something meaningful and eventually created and recorded an album together. That became the starting point for the song, the idea that sometimes someone enters your life for a reason you don’t expect. Along with that, I interjected some of my own personal feelings about the past haunting me. So in a sense, it’s more of a heartfelt statement than “ear candy” lyrics. The track started with fingerpicked acoustic guitar and vocal and gradually grew into upright bass, mandolin, violin, and lap steel. Luke Cyrus Goetze (Germany) recorded the lap steel remotely and really added the perfect atmosphere I was looking for. Thanks to @Dane Holmes and Chris who offered feedback along the way.

I am ok with music theory. I know what chord names mean. I can't read but I can stumble through some 'dots on the lines' . I get modes, secondary dominants, all the basics, just conversationally ok. So today I stumbled on a video and it is incredible. The pace is fast. Which I love. It is thorough. I need to re-watch about 5 times. His delivery is incredible. If you want a solid basis of music theory so you can pretty much converse and learn from anyone, this is your deal.
