DTV Visa sorted
Sawasdee krab! After being here for 2 months on a Visa waiver. I went to Vietnam then briefly back to the UK and sorted the DTV visa out via London Embassy. Whole process took about 2 weeks with the back and forth around evidence. As I am self-employed through my own UK company. I was asked for: - a letter of support from my own company explaining my role at the company (on headed paper) - a professional CV or portfolio of engagements - a company. incorporation certificate listing me as a director. I got stamped in for 6 months though. I'm taking some non-billable time to explore, find a place to settle and restructure how I package services for clients. Thanks for all the content @Brett Dev. If anyone is in the process and needs some help feel free to DM or engage below.

Great stuff Ryan, well deserved. Hope it will be still around when I'll be ready to apply for mine next year!

@John K. Never chilled on those groups to be honest. I just started freelancing on the side of my 9-5 but not fully established with it yet. For now I'm looking to go the soft power route and I wouldn't really need an agent for that. I'll be applying in a couple of months, but my main concern is whether they will eventually make it harder to get. It's hard to keep up with their constant visa rule changes, but only time will tell I guess.
Saw this on my FB feed
There is a job advert on my Facebook feed, I too a screen shot of the advert and then a screen shot of the website. It's a company offering a freelance teaching position, looks like a good opportunity as it doesn't explicitly say you need a degree, just a 120 hour TEFL. The company looks legit, has mixed reviews online, so if you are interested please do your due diligence! Positions in Bangkok and China.

@John K. My thoughts exactly - but having checked the form I think you need a TEFL already, as there isn't an option to add on a TEFL course through them. Would make for some decent side income nevertheless.
My intro. First post. Long overdue...
Hey everyone! 👋🏾 I’m Ralph, a Brit currently based in the UK with a 9-5 in IT but I'm working toward becoming a full-time digital nomad... with my sights set on Thailand 🌴 having made a few trips there in the last 3 years. Aiming for the second half of next year and hope I can reach that goal. I've reached a point in my life where I want total location freedom without having to be tied down and having to commute to the office surrounded by four close walls and miserable people! Anyway, I just launched my freelance digital marketing business helping wellness practitioners (think massage therapists, holistic healers, yoga instructors, spa owners etc.) grow their digital presence. My niche comes from a real love of wellness and natural healing... and I wanted to help the people who help others. I'm offering done-for-you digital marketing packages including websites/landing pages, email marketing, and social media management. This wouldn't have been possible without Brett's courses and insights! Yet to land clients as I've just put myself out there, but I currently have a launch discount offer live (and a one month free trial) if any of you know someone who might benefit... 🙂 I'll hold my hand up and admit that I've been a bit of a lurker on here, but I'd love to contribute, connect, learn from you all, and find community while I transition into nomad life. Would love to get any tips or advice from folks here who: - Started freelancing whilst on a 9-5 before going full time nomad - Launched a niche service business whilst living in Thailand/SE Asia - Working in wellness digital marketing, I’d love to chat! Excuse the lengthy first post! But thanks for reading if you made it this far. Excited to be here and build this alongside you all. 🙏🏾 Oh and here's my website/landing page - https://www.rejuvereach.com (note to admin: not sure if I'm allowed to post this but if it's against the rules then feel free to delete).

Here's an update for visa free travel in China
If you are a digital nomad considering a journey to China, understanding the current visa-free entry policies is essential. While the term 'digital nomad' can imply working remotely, it is crucial to note that China's visa-free policies are specifically for tourism, business, and exchange activities, not for employment. This guide provides an overview of the key visa-free options available, allowing you to plan your trip with confidence. Unilateral Visa-Free Entry for a 30-Day Stay China has implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for nationals of several countries, allowing them to enter and stay for up to 30 days. This policy is designed to facilitate tourism, business, and personal visits. As of the latest updates, this includes citizens from the following countries: - France - Germany - Italy - Spain - The Netherlands - Malaysia - Switzerland - Ireland - Hungary - Austria - Belgium - Luxembourg - New Zealand - Australia - Poland - Portugal - Greece - Cyprus - Slovenia - Slovakia - Norway - Finland - Denmark - Iceland - Brunei - Andorra - Monaco - Liechtenstein - Korea - Bulgaria - Romania In addition to the above, other countries are also eligible for visa-free travel based on bilateral agreements, including: - Singapore (for up to 15 days) - Thailand (for up to 30 days) - Georgia (for up to 30 days) - Serbia (for up to 30 days) - United Arab Emirates (for up to 30 days) Permitted Activities During your visa-free stay, you are permitted to engage in activities such as: - Tourism and sightseeing - Business activities and meetings (NOT PAID WORK) - Visiting family and friends - General cultural and educational exchanges - Transiting through the country It is imperative to understand that this policy does not permit activities related to work, study, or journalism. Engaging in these activities could result in penalties, including fines or deportation. Ports of Entry The unilateral visa-free policy applies to travellers arriving through any sea, road, and air port in China that is open to foreign nationals. This offers significant flexibility for your travel plans.

Hey Clive, thanks for sharing this... super useful for those who don't know much about it! Just wanted to add that China has also inlcuded a 240 hour (10 day) visa-free transit option. It works exactly the same way and conditions as the 24 hour and 144 hour versions but just a longer duration. I believe it's a recent addition. I actually used the 24 hour one earlier this year and it was a really smooth experience, all pretty straightforward. I already had my onward flight to Thailand booked so I just went through the transit desk and had no issues at all. I was tied for time back then, but next time I'll probably take advantage of the 240 hour one and do some exploring... 🙂 Definitely worth checking out if you’re planning a quick visit or passing through China on your way somewhere else like I did.
How many hours each day are you working on your online business?

I’m currently working around 11-12 focused hours per week on my freelance digital marketing business, alongside a full-time 9-5. Most of it is on the weekends bouncing around cafes. The goal is to escape the rat race. Hasn't been easy but building steadily...
