What's collecting dust on your bookshelf?
I've got like 6 books sitting there staring at me. Bought them months ago with the best intentions. "I'm definitely going to read this one next!" ...Still haven't touched them. The Lean Startup. Atomic Habits (yeah, I know, everyone's read it but me). Some book about productivity that's probably ironic at this point. We all do this, right? Buy books. Stack them up. Feel productive for buying them. Then they just sit there judging us. What's that ONE book you really want to read but haven't gotten to yet? The one that's been on your "I'll read it next" list for months?

DTV Visa sorted
Sawasdee krab! After being here for 2 months on a Visa waiver. I went to Vietnam then briefly back to the UK and sorted the DTV visa out via London Embassy. Whole process took about 2 weeks with the back and forth around evidence. As I am self-employed through my own UK company. I was asked for: - a letter of support from my own company explaining my role at the company (on headed paper) - a professional CV or portfolio of engagements - a company. incorporation certificate listing me as a director. I got stamped in for 6 months though. I'm taking some non-billable time to explore, find a place to settle and restructure how I package services for clients. Thanks for all the content @Brett Dev. If anyone is in the process and needs some help feel free to DM or engage below.

UFC and Breakfast in Chiang Mai this Sunday Morning
Khamzat Chimaev vs DDP this Sunday morning here in Chiang Mai. I'm watching it at Euro Diner in the old city. Small, lowkey cafe with great western food and proper English breakfast. Won't break the bank either. If they're not showing the fights (they probably will be) we can just go next door to The UN Irish. They always have it on upstairs. 👉🏻 Full details and map here Hope to see some of you there!

Hey everyone! I'm a cybersecurity contractor with ten years of experience under my belt. I specialise in vulnerability management and technical assurance where I assess risk, and do things such as penetration testing. Always happy to help out with anything security-related.

@Niall Bennett there are pen testing specific qualifications that are valued such as OSCP and CREST. I'd complete some of the capture the flag or bug bounty platforms such as Hack the box or hackerone and use them to demonstrate competence in interviews. Your knowledge around APIs etc is definitely transferable. I recommend web app hacking handbook (i think there is one specific to mobile app testing) and hackers playbook as good reads for knowledge building. I'd start by taking an app you've built and intercept requests to the server using Burp Suite and build out your methodology from there.

I’m a freelance cybersecurity consultant helping technical professionals build secure products and protect client data. I’d like to come on and discuss: “What you should be doing to reduce your professional risk and Keep Client Data Safe” We could cover topics like BYOD vs. corporate devices, why separating personal and client activity matters, and practical steps to reduce exposure. We could also discuss why the timezone your client in matters, why keeping regular contactable hours with your client is important and pros and cons of living in hostels/coliving places while working.
