A Warm Welcome to the Digital Detective Hub!
Hey everyone, welcome to this new Digital Detective Hub community. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Sam, and I currently live in Chicago. My biggest goal in creating this community is that there are still many people falling victim to dating scams in 2025. That's why I founded this community today. I'm a dating expert and scam avoidance coach. I teach you how to find real love and avoid dishonest people. And as far as I know, there is no better option than school to do this. Here we'll discuss both offline and online dating, and how you can avoid scams on websites like Tinder and Bumble. Let’s build this community together and make it something amazing! Right now, everyone is welcome to join for free. Just remember—this is a place for real conversations, not spam. We keep things respectful and helpful here, so please avoid promotional or irrelevant posts. Thanks for helping us keep this group valuable for everyone! 🙂

Can online dating websites be trusted?
I keep wondering if online dating apps are trustworthy. Is the person I'm chatting with on the app truly trustworthy? By the way, I'm 22 years old and haven't created an account on any dating app yet. However, I'm thinking about creating an account on a good app soon and starting a new journey in life. But my inner fear keeps me from doing so. I have a friend named Avvy, whenever I remember her, my faith in love vanishes. It was in 2022 when Avvy created an account on a dating app for the first time. I will not reveal the name of the app because many people may object to it. But let me tell you that the app is very popular in USA and millions of people use it. She didn't know much about online dating. On her first day, she met a guy named David. David was incredibly handsome, so Avvy became very attracted to him. This continued for a month. They spent most of the day chatting online. But about a month later, David told Avvy that his mother had been in a car accident and needed $10,000 in emergency funds. He said he was embarrassed to ask Avvy for money because they hadn't even met yet. But Avvy had truly fallen in love with David, so she sent him the money. After sending the money, the two didn't talk much. David thanked Avvy and told her he would return the money in three days. But honestly, they never spoke again. David never logged in with that ID. Avvy waited for him for 20 days, always saying that David wasn't a scammer; his mother wasn't well, so he wasn't logging in. It's been three years since the incident, in 2025, but David is still nowhere to be found. So, I don't want to fall victim to these scammers.

Quinn, I know how it feels to be betrayed in love. I've been through it myself. But you have to move on. Just because one person betrayed you doesn't mean the whole world will betray you. While there are bad people in the world, there are also good people. You have to live your life happily, not fearfully. Dating websites aren't as bad as you think. Your friend wasn't as knowledgeable about them and was using these apps for the first time, so she easily fell for scammers. If you're unsure about something, you should research it first. It makes things easier. If you want to date online, you should choose legitimate websites like Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge. The chances of getting scammed here are very low.
