Claude Desktop as system orchestrator with Subscription
Hey everyone, I've been exploring this over the last few days after not liking the other things I'd tried for a 'daily driver' primary chat agent and system management co-pilot. I couldn't really find this exact outline when searching here or online so hopefully its helpful if anyone else is curious. I've set up Claude Desktop on my mac mini, and have successfully, I think, set it so on my macbook I can just chat into Claude (through a Tailscale and ssh set up) under a specific project and Claude Desktop can write files, view files, run commands, etc. I have no idea if this skill will work, I just asked it to generate it now, perhaps @Beau Johnson you can audit it/refine it if it can be useful for the community. It's a summary of the steps I think that are required. I'll post in a follow up on this thread a TLDR. But so far, it's helped me code updates to my Mission Control, reduce context bloat from bootstrap files, clean up files redundancy, and more. 😅

The guide covers: 1. Phase 1: System Audit — How to generate a "brain dump" from your existing agent and create a Claude Desktop project with that context 2. Phase 2: SSH Setup — Enabling Remote Login, testing connectivity, setting up passwordless SSH key auth 3. Phase 3: MCP Configuration — The exact JSON config for claude_desktop_config.json with SSH-tunneled filesystem and shell servers 4. Phase 4: Testing — Verifying tools work, testing file reads, shell commands, and service restarts 5. Troubleshooting — Common errors we ran into (wrong package names, PATH issues, BatchMode failures) and how to fix them 6. Security & Maintenance — Scope considerations and keeping a system state file

Using third-party harnesses with your Claude subscription
just got this email ... Hi,Starting April 4 at 12pm PT / 8pm BST, you’ll no longer be able to use your Claude subscription limits for third-party harnesses including OpenClaw. You can still use them with your Claude account, but they will require extra usage, a pay-as-you-go option billed separately from your subscription.Your subscription still covers all Claude products, including Claude Code and Claude Cowork. To keep using third-party harnesses with your Claude login, turn on extra usage for your account. This will be enforced April 4 starting with OpenClaw, but this policy applies to all third-party harnesses and will be rolled out to more shortly (read more). To make the transition easier, we’re offering a one-time credit for extra usage equal to your monthly subscription price. Redeem your credit by April 17. We’re also introducing discounts when you pre-purchase bundles of extra usage (up to 30%).

Just when I was seeing real improvement using opus 4-5 as my main agent 😵‍💫 I’ve been thinking of trying Google's Gemma 4 through an MLX on my Mac mini, only has 16GB though, anyone try that yet?
Gemma 4 is out with a nice Opensource Licence

I’ve seen this: https://atomicbot.ai, from this video: https://youtu.be/5AF0I1B6Lx4?si=JQn_fl3ZsdJDPL9G make it super easy to install. Might try it this weekend, but trying to stay focused on building, let us know if anyone uses it what your results are!

Telegram approval gate after update
Recently updated my open claw and now there’s a bunch of approvals that keep coming through when I was in Telegram, but I had to approve it on my gateway on my local machine that was running open claw I finally thought to ask my open claw how to make that better inside of telegram, and it recommended this and now I have buttons directly in telegram for approval gates, so this is a must for telegram users there. channels.telegram.execApprovals.enabled
