The Charity season begins
Well today saw @Devon Hay and myself start the charity season with Moray Mental health, playing against the University of Highlands and Islands (UHI) Devon had the first half and I was the second half. A good warm up saw us both ready for the game. Devon will put his own take on his half I am sure of it although there will be 1 particular dive put in from the video footage for all to Marvel at!!! So Half time 2-0 down and the swap came. For those who follow my progress you know this week has been a tough one mentally worried my playing days were ended 3 weeks from my 46th birthday as I had lost my power for diving. But out I went for the second half with UHI certainly stretching the play with you get bodies and pace meant so busy times ahead. Mindset and prep was all good and the first action for myself was a fairly easy centre of the chest collect great grip from the new J4K Vipers always great to get that first ball secured, good distribution and building into the game, then Came the first diving save and safely secured down to my left. Confirming immediately to myself that I can still dive. The half went on the. A string of Corbera against us saw a solid punch followed by the cardinal sin. I was claiming the ball easily and took my eye off the ball looking for the fast distribution I had my hands too wide, the ball went in and straight through to the waiting attacker behind me for 3-0 🤦🏻 A quick reset hand held up and I went on to control my area, a few more full dives to near and far post and o e big claim that left the Centre forward sat feeling his chest from jumping with me (A claim that shows raising your knee for protection will always leave the striker wishing he hadn’t challenged. (video will follow on that one as loved that feeling) Full time and sadly a loss but 3-0 and with positives for myself, Devon and the rest of the Squad to take forward I to the bigger matches to come
