Hi @Alex Lato, very interesting footage, thank you so much for sharing! However, when training a young susceptible dog in a strange environment I can see difficulties arising for the handler. I have no problem applying (and teaching) this on the training field, but in a different environment - new to the dog - if the dog is not interested in the food (or the handler) because of all the triggers from the environment, a less experienced handler is going to have trouble holding on to engagement from the dog. Of course we can decide to only train on the field, but that would make it location-based focus, it’s unavoidable people (clients) wanting to take their dog somewhere else and expect the dog to behave as during the exercises that we trained. In the meantime, mistakes and frustration will happen, so the learning will probably be very slow and maybe even undermined by the inexperience or lack of input from the handler. How would you handle this?
