Project (Aka "Effort") Structure
I was just looking the system (Level 2) and I noticed something that made me curious: - Domains are structured as "sub-items" - Projects, even though they are structured as "parent projects" and "sub-projects", instead are structured as "graph data structure", am I wrong? Basically like the Knowledge/Note section If I understand the reason behind the Knowledge/Note section, I was wondering why the projects, even being "clearly" organized as parent-child structure, are not structured with a sub-item system :D Thanks in advance for the clarification @Peter Shev :D

Projects have pretty much the same structure as domains, so they are hierarchical and are absolutely structured with a sub-item system! Attaching two example screenshots - one from the project stack where you can see top-level parent on the left and children on the right and the second screenshot is if we dig into the properties you'll see the "parent" & "child" fields. Exactly as you would see on domains. This way you can think of your effort as being more of tree structure similar to domains (even though there isn't just one root project). Notes on the other hand have no parent & child fields and instead are interlinked with links via "mentions", so that way any note can link to any other note and you would traverse this graph with links and backlinks. Does that make sense? If you explain how you saw projects being more similar to notes than domains in their structure maybe I could elaborate😉

@Daniele Gaggiotti No problem, glad you found it ;)
Nice to meet you all and... quick question! :D
Hello guys, I'm Daniel, The Italian Coach! :D I posted my introduction in the proper section, so I'll go straight to the point! :) As I said in that post, everyone has different ways to see the "System Thinking". Of course the "Plan -> Execute -> Track -> Review -> Reset" and the "Life Vision -> Daily Vision" is pretty much similar in the different approaches, but what about other stuff? For you guys, approaching this system, did you find it easy even coming from other approaches? :D I read some posts saying that could be difficult the transition from level 1 to level 2, so @Peter Shev , would it be a good idea to start from the level 2 straight away or do you suggest to do step by step? I mean... I know that you did in a "organised manner", but that includes of course the "business cycle" that will lead towards the purchase of the level 2 (so free course -> paid course). Now, considering that I already decided to buy even the level 3 (ahah), I will re-ask the question: it would be a good idea to start from the level 2 straight away or do you suggest to do step by step? 🤣 I hope now is way clearer my question ahah! That said... I fell in love with the system when I saw you tracking >100 metrics. At that point I thought "ah, so it's not only me in the word to be that granular! 🤣". So, @Peter Shev very very very nice to meet you and congratulations for the work done!!! 👏

Thank you a lot for the support Daniel! It means a lot to me🙏 Truly hope the system will be of help to you and let me know if you encounter any problems of course! Your feedback about the PKM is received😉

@Daniele Gaggiotti Haha, makes sense :)) Thank you again, and this kind of feedback truly motivates me to continue working on it💪
Greetings! Introduce yourself + share your interests 😊
I noticed some you sharing bits of your stories and I absolutely love reading those! Thought it’d be cool to have one place where we can all get to know each other🙌 Here’s a simple format you can follow (but feel free to freestyle if you want): Hey, I'm from _____________. My main interests include _________, __________. (plus would love to hear your background with Notion and goals with LifeOS!)
Greetings! Introduce yourself + share your interests 😊

@Daniele Gaggiotti Hey Daniel! Awesome experience!🔥 I myself have a big interest in fitness and wellness as well💪 Totally get your point about switching between approaches haha and would be super interesting to hear how you see this system relative to others :) Good luck to you on this journey and hopefully we can talk on our next skool hangout!😉🚀
Project success
Today is one of my quarterly planning days and as I'm working on downloading and defining projects, I'm starting to feel like I may want to add another property to my projects table for "What does success look like?" Yes, there's 'definition of done', but for me, that's more of a 'when do I feel like I can check this off my list?' On the other hand, 'What does success look like?' gives me a better idea of what sorts of things I should be working on. For example, I am teaching two certification class series and a conference session in the next 4 months. - Definition of done: "I have put together my presentation, prepared, and presented to x group." - What does success look like?: "I've carefully prepared my slides to be engaging without distracting and practiced so that I'm not just reading what's on the slides, but instead giving the "so what" and "what now" behind the information. Feedback from those in attendance is that they were engaged, learned new things that feel applicable to them, and they are excited to go back to their office and put what they've learned into practice. Association/conference coordinators approach me about teaching for them again." Someone is probably thinking "Why not just put the success version in the done property?" This may just be my brain, but if I don't achieve a portion of that, then now I'm back feeling like I have some sort of open loop that I can't close. Done is practical, Success is aspirational. Thoughts from anyone else?

Sounds like that could be a powerful approach to visualizing success in a bit of a more systematic way. Would you want to have it displayed everywhere on the project card (gallery view) or something something to brainstorm during the initialization of the project? Sounds like something to discuss tomorrow on the call ;)
Taking Life Admin analogue again
I'm still reflecting on what the trigger is - most likely when life feels really busy - but I'm taking my Life Admin routines analogue again. For me, this is a set of 3x5 cards and month/day card dividers in a box (a bit like a 43 folders tickler file, but the idea is from the Sidetracked Home Executives book). When I'm busy, out of sight = out of mind, so the 3x5 cards are a tangible representation what I routinely need to get done and what I have left to do. Having my home and daily routines tucked into Notion means that I tend to be inconsistent when I am offline. Prior to integrating the LifeOS system, I had added checkboxes to my days to indicate that I had completed routine sets, so likely I'll go back to using those and also surface those to the higher levels. I suppose this is just encouragement to do what works for you to make sure things that need to be done...get done.

Interesting! I feel like I want the place that reflects my progress on my habits to simply be the most likely place I look throughout the day :) I have done analogue habit tracking a bunch and when everything is integrated in cycles that I regularly check I notice I am far more likely to see it in Notion rather then, on my desk, on the fridge, or wherever else :)
