I received some sad news yesterday
I received some sad news yesterday. One of my nieces Krysta Mincitar was in a terrible car accident and she will need several surgeries to put her back again. Other than extreme pain she's doing OK, but her life will be forever changed. She's young and very active with her children and playing sports like softball and volleyball. According to the doctors all of that will change, but we all know that doctors are often wrong. I'll be doing my best to help my niece know and understand that the doctors are only making a prediction and not a statement of fact. My mom on 3 different occasions was given 5 years or less to live by 3 different doctors and she bet all of them a steak and lobster dinner. She not only lived longer that she was given, she also got 3 steak and lobster dinners for free, and she outlived those doctors. The fourth doctor said the same thing. 5 years or less. She was a month or two from getting her free steak and lobster dinner before she began her journey to Spirit World. She lived almost 20 years after her first diagnosis. I'll remind her about that. If you have any similar true stories about times doctors were wrong please share them with me so that I can share them with her so that she can read them and hopefully give her the strength that she needs to overcome this. I'm also going to remind her about Roy Benavides a war hero who was told that he'd never walk again, but he proved them wrong and went right back to Vietnam to fight next to his buddies. If you've never heard about Roy Benavides I highly recommend that you listen to his story. A poor Chicano Yaqui Indian becoming a Medal of Honor recipient and one hell of a man. His story is an inspiration even if you are against wars. If you find it in your heart to pray for my niece Krysta Mincitar my family and I would very much appreciate it. If you don't believe in prayer it's OK. I'm only asking those who do pray for prayers.
