I'd love to know....
How were you introduced to IBC? What got you started? How many introductions did it take before you "caught" it?

I was introduced to IBC through the Banking with life podcast. I was searching YouTube for something along the lines of "family bank" or "how to create generational wealth" after watching a Sunday Morning story about a family that had started a "family only" credit union. I listened to every episode they had posted at the time. which lead me to the Lara Murphy report, where I did the same. I then bought and read BYOB and How privatized banking really works and, at some point while reading BYOB, I remember slamming the book down in frustration that we weren't taught this earlier in life. I then went to the NNI web page to see if there were Practitioners in my area. I found one that was close enough we could meet face to face. I would say this was about a 4 month period. There was only 1 introduction and I think I caught it fairly quickly, mostly because my dad taught me how to take secured loans from my savings accounts in my early 20's.

@Travis Fairbairn Funny story.. My dad was an AL Williams salesman for a while when I was growing up. lol. He cringes every time I talk about Whole Life insurance. I am glad he gave me that little nugget about secured loans, I used that capital I borrowed against to start my first policy.
My Mom and IUL…
My mom is meeting with a State Farm agent this morning to talk about converting her term policy into an IUL and invited me on ( I thought we were meeting to discuss whole life). I’m not all that familiar with IUL or variable mechanics. What questions should we be asking the agent?

How Much IUL do you own personally?

@Travis Fairbairn This is probably the agent's answer also. LOL
Tracking policy loans
I’m curious, who creates a promissory note and a payment schedule for each policy loan they take… and who just maintains a habit of paying policy loans back?

I used to do sheets. Now all available cash flow goes to loans.
When you join the group, feel free to make a post introducing yourself
Can be just to say hi, tell a story about how you discovered IBC, what you're exited about right now etc. Please feel free to mention also what you do so we can support eachothers businesses, but let's not be "spammy" about it ok?

Hello all, I am Paul Stutsman. I found IBC through a YouTube search looking for "family banking" Don't remember what the first 2 were, but the 3rd one was a Banking with Life episode, and I was hooked from then on. I'm a W-2 employee that has a couple rentals on the side and a few lawns to mow and parking lots to plow (snow) on the side of that. Been listening to Wealth Warehouse since the early days of my journey as part of my half day "IBC Friday" routine.

@Rebekah Waller Glad to be here.. This is gonna be FUN!!
What are you using your policy loans for?
Would love to hear how you're using them! Personally I've used mine for debt consolidation of high interest credit cards, as well as investing in startups.

I use Policy loans to pay premium, property taxes and insurance, and pretty much every major expense I have, then flow all my free cash back into the loans. I've also financed vehicles and a furnace for my son. Next up is taking over the 3rd party mortgage on my rental properties.

@David Waller I'd like to think I'm doing it as designed. I've only started using loans to pay premium now that my cash surrender value growth is greater than my premium being paid.
