USA peeps: does your dog food give the nutritional breakdown on the bags?
Just curious. Here in the UK there’s really not a lot of info given, would be interested to know if that’s the same in other countries. 🤔

thanks Amy, I just had a look at my dog's food bag and was surprised to find...there's not much info! There are ingredients, but no further breakdown. Makes losing weight a huge guessing game😳😆. I wonder if it's like this in other countries, the US? Australia?

👀 Eye Contact = Engagement Following this week’s challenge, I’ve put together a short video showing how I build eye contact and engagement with my dog. Eye contact isn’t about staring competitions—it’s about teaching your dog that checking in with you is rewarding. When your dog chooses to focus on you, training becomes easier, distractions become less powerful, and your relationship grows stronger. In the video, I walk through some simple exercises you can start using straight away to encourage your dog to offer attention voluntarily. Give it a watch, then let me know in the comments:🐾 How did your dog get on with this week’s challenge? 🐾 What situations do you find it hardest to keep your dog’s attention? Looking forward to hearing your progress!

The point of view angle is really helpful, much easier to understand. So you let her do her own thing, to sort of break up the mental focus, and then when she REfocuses back to you, THATS when you give the treat/“yes”?

@Sandra Hinds on 1 emergency shift I might euthanize 3-5 pets. Per shift. (for many non-emergency vets this would be per month). This can be very difficult for me as a vet, on many levels. Seeing profound grief that many times, in 1 day, I believe can do something to us. So I’ve had to step back on the emergency work, I could tell it was not good for me. But I would be interested to hear more about what you have learned! Feel free to post in the group, or hopefully we’ll catch up at some point ☺️

@Sandra Hinds that’s a really touching journey you’ve been through. Giving tasks is a great idea, if anything there’s a little win, which matters. I find myself listening to Anderson Coopers ‘all there is’ podcast on grief a lot nowadays (lost my dad recently). It brings me a lot of comfort, and I don’t feel so alone in my weird feelings. Lmk when you have your website up!

This Week’s Challenge: The 3-Second Check-In Game Want your dog to pay more attention to you on walks without constantly calling their name? Try this: ➡️ On your next walk, every time your dog voluntarily looks at you, mark it with a cheerful “Yes!” (or click if you use a clicker) and give them a treat. That’s it. No commands, no asking for attention. Just reward the choice to check in with you. ‼️ Why it works: Dogs repeat behaviors that pay off. When checking in becomes rewarding, your dog starts choosing to stay connected to you—even when there are distractions around. Your challenge this week: - Do this for 5 minutes per walk. - Count how many check-ins happen naturally. - Notice if the number increases by the end of the week. - 👇 Share in the comments: How many check-ins did your dog offer on Day 1?

That is such a great idea. I noticed you did that with your dog in the last video, didn’t realise it was for that moment of connection. Interesting. And so cool.
