Listening as a principle
I was looking at what true listening entails. It seems to me that the more I pay attention, the more evident it becomes that I'm not particularly good at it - not so much in the conventional sense, but in a deeper way. Imagine someone is communicating a profound insight to you - whether it relates to consciousness work, transformation, or something else entirely. What do you do with it? Do you immediately accept it, reject it, believe it, disbelieve it? Do you hear the words, filter them through your mind, recall past references to what's being said, and then conclude that the communication is now understood? Perhaps the first sign of poor listening is this very impulse or predisposition to claim that you've already understood the communication. This seems to be common. We don't realize that we may have failed to listen, that we haven't experienced the insight being shared (or at least not as profoundly as we could have). So how can we better "listen," especially in this context? What even is that about?

@Devin Henderson l have been considering/contemplating listening recently, l am in a group that requires me to only listen to others share their experiences, and at some point during the meeting l share whatever is going on with me. I have sat in many diads, and have had some profound experiences. My struggle is to make listening a new experience every time l choose to, l am being realistic because there's times when l rather not listen for whatever reason. As l am attempting to communicate my experience with listening l am shifting into not knowing what listening is and discovering more possibilities of what it can become.

Generally, people are stuck in a great deal of false realities that produce struggle, suffering, and discontent. Increasing consciousness frees us from this falsely limited world so we can access greater freedom and happiness, not to mention gain more effectiveness and creativity. Becoming more conscious takes investigation, learning, and contemplation. We provide these tools and support.” — Peter Ralston

Hi all, l started the Cheng Hsin path in 1988. I have been fortunate to have spent a lot of time with Peter. When l listen to Peter speak l shift out of my safe place, ( like l know what is going on), and contemplate on what is really occuring. For me, Peter speaks in layers, meaning l hear the words but that is only a small part of what is being said, it's like standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon and looking out, there is too much to see . But the more l look the more l see. I am still "getting" stuff Peter said to me 20 years ago, which is pretty cool and inspiring. When l listen to Peter speak now l have to smile because l now understand a lot more of what is being said. It is a gift that l was given and l am very grateful. Thank you Viktor and Brendan for doing what you do. Love, Patrick

We had a visitor on the mats today. Some insects spend time flying around trying to get out and eventually get tired and come down. I thought this was beautiful and wanted to share.

Don't avoid it. Consider, it's actually a very powerful place to be. It strips away all the crap that keeps you distracted or in fantasy land, which keeps you hopeful, trying to be special and unique.

@Viktor Balogh l think/feel that being alone with just myself with very little outside stimulation in a ordinary situation for a extended period of time requires, for me, effort. I am addicted to my senses. I can shift into a meditative state or a contemplative state or the basic, having a conversation with myself. The " mind" seems to crave stimulation, that is all it knows. The question that arises for me is: what is being?
On movement
The key to mastering movement is feeling. The more you feel your body, the more life, vitality, circulation, sensitivity, and sheer enjoyment will be generated. Perhaps its best to hold increasing body awareness as an ongoing adventure, not something to be finally accomplished. This way, we are encouraged to freshly and repeatedly seek out what's present in the body, as well as to be open to and excited about discovering something new.

another to mastering movement is to make a distinction between thinking and feeling
