IDG is growing up - Call 2
Great conversation today. Here are some insights shared: Core IDG Concept (unchanged): - The sustainability crisis is fundamentally a behavioral crisis, not just a technical problem - Inner development is essential for outer change - values, perspectives, relationships need to evolve - This core mission remains the same for the next 50 years What's Changing - Organizational Structure: - Moving away from centralized startup mentality with big summits and central control - Transitioning to a distributed movement model - Central node should focus on narrative and integrity rather than operations - Suggested that leadership should be elected by the community, not controlled by founders Survey Insights (50 responses): - Strong grassroots energy with decentralized involvement - Participants across multiple roles in hubs, centers, and ambassador networks - Missing voices: strategic stakeholders, business/academic partners, co-founders Key Themes from Survey: - What brings aliveness:ย Human connection, local trust, small circles, clear roles, readiness for local action - What enables progress:ย Clear decision-making agreements, better two-way communication, cross-collaborations between communities, trust in community-led action - IDG Foundation's role:ย Hold integrity of IDG essence but not manage operations Here are two documents for you too look at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f3k_2awsQR5vsuieONW-fD9Fr4KxjdQAgvB-GHkFWHc/edit?tab=t.0 https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/16MhWjtjmCNqgF7mOZnX02UCwPNehNqfs4hkO8SiHlMU/edit?slide=id.g3ac78849a87_0_11#slide=id.g3ac78849a87_0_11

Let's discuss the real value of the THINKING dimension for organizations
Hi everyone I invite you to join me next week on Tuesday, 6pm CET, for another 30-minute discussion about what's come up so far in our reverse-engineering Client Value Challenge for the THINKING dimension. If you haven't had a chance yet to contribute your thoughts on what the concrete outcomes of the IDGs are for organizations (their pain points), then I invite you to have a look at ๐Ÿ‘‰ this post and add your contribution to ๐Ÿ‘‰ this Google Doc And if you can, join the conversation next Tuesday, at 6pm CET ๐Ÿฆ‹ Have a wonderful weekend Sarah (and Nadene) P.S. If you're just joining us: what we're co-creating is the language we need to speak in order to get the attention and to be understood by our clients. We need to pick them up where they're at, and therefore we are reverse-engineering the IDG language into 'organizational pain-point' language.

I was very much into thinking. But as Marvin says, thinking without structure can be a spiral with no useful exit. I found that having questions to answer/to think about helps making the process useful. And I am also thinking (๐Ÿ˜…) of agency as the partner that can make thinking successful.
Client Value Challenge: Kicking off with the 1st dimension: BEING
Hello community! today is the day we're kicking off the 5-dimension reverse-engineering challenge to help us all get better at communicating the tangible value and worth of the IDGs. One question we always hear is โ€˜โ€™How can I convince my clients to work with the IDGs?โ€™ But the real question to ask is โ€˜How do I create an offering that translates the IDGs into concrete outcomes my clients care about? Over the next few week's weโ€™ll explore together how to embody the IDGs in a way that translates into clear, tangible outcomes your clients recognize and are willing to pay for. Together we learn how to identify and articulate your clientsโ€™ external (what they say they need), internal (what they feel), and philosophical (what they believe) challenges and reverse Engineer IDG skills into Employeeโ€™s Needs, Organizational Pain Points and relative SDG Goals. Please watch the attached video and then pick one of the BEING skills and share your reverse-engineered thoughts in this Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zLUjTaSr9l8l1CI_3s7EF1KaHi3OeSLBVlL6JRpbYts/edit?usp=sharing As soon as we have some insights, we'll discuss further in one of the next Hangouts. We look forward to co-create this IDG language with you Sarah & Nadene P.S. please post questions, reflections, things that are not clear in the comments

Looking at the table, I think it would be interesting to add also a column for Leeders' Needs, ie. speaking about Integrity & Authenยญtiยญciยญty those might come speaking about their need to have an impact, or to being authentic while aligning to the Org values (ie. Authenticicty Paradox). What do you think?

@Sarah Santacroce done! added my note
Translators & Bridgemakers
this is one of the slides I used during the Unconference workshop called 'How to Translate the IDGs into concrete Outcomes your Clients Care About' and it will be the basis of our Client Value Challenge. Yes, we are bridge-makers, but we are also translators who need to be really good at speaking both languages, the IDG-language (or the new paradigm language), but also the business language and current (or some might say old paradigm) language. Because it's only when we address the organizational challenges (pain points) that we get heard, understood and taken seriously. That's why we'll become experts at reverse-engineering - or translating. From IDG language (the different dimensions and skills) to organizational pain points, employee's needs and respective SDGs. P.S. in the last hangout we noticed most of us speak at least 2 languages! ๐Ÿ‘‰ How many languages do you speak ? Drop it in the comments
