What genre do you put when releasing a track
Hey everybody! I want to release a track. It's a cinematic orchestral trailer track, but I didn't sell it or anything, I just want to put it on music distributors (spotify, apple music, etc.). I get to choose what genre my track is, but there isn't anything really working with what I compose. I don't really know how much of an impact it can have either. I'm releasing with Distrokid. Thank you!

Hey everyone, I'm a accounting student from Montreal, but I compose since forever! I had a classical music education and started composing orchestral music first. Then I got a DAW and tried to learn a bit of every style. But ever since the beginning, I was always a fan of epic music from movies and video games. I recently got back into it and I am looking forward to learn more about mixing and mastering my music to make it sound EPIC😎

Okay so... Monday might be a problem for your wallet
Real talk for a second. I've been putting together this Black Box campaign for the past few weeks with some sample library developers and other partners. And honestly? The deals we locked in are kind of ridiculous. Like... the kind of numbers that made me double-check if they meant what they wrote. First box opens Monday. Winners get drawn. Deals drop that literally won't exist anywhere else. Then it happens again next week. And the week after. Until the beginning of December. Here's the thing though: If you're not in the campaign yet, you miss the first reveal entirely. And trust me, you don't want to miss what's in Box #1. Takes 30 seconds to enter: https://growbaze.com/black-box-2025 One entry = all four weeks of surprises. I'm not going to sit here and hype it up with typical marketing BS. Just know that I've never done Black Friday deals like this before. I will probably go broke! And I've been doing this for a while. Box #1 drops Monday morning. You've been warned. — Alex P.S. — Got composer friends who'd hate themselves for missing this? Feel free to share the link.

Excited to see what it's gonna be!!
„Play it in“ vs Keyboard and Mouse
I would be really interested in how you guys normally compose a new Track. Do you normally Play all the parts in with the MIDI Keyboard or are you more of a „putting the notes in“ kind of person :D ? If you are playing all the parts in , how do you keep track of the Chord progression (making sure the notes fit into the current chord) ? I normally put the notes in with the mouse but really am trying to get better at the keyboard , as I think this would be a good boost to my productivity if I could play the parts in efficiently.

Most of the time I will play it on the keyboard and then go back into it and edit my errors, or if the timing isn't like I want it to be. At that time I try to move the notes to see how it can sound different. For percussions, I like to write with the mouse. I always try to put hits where I wouldn't usually think of. I'm always surprised by how good random rhythm can sound😀
