Crazy exciting!
How is a farm stand like a blockchain?
They're both great examples of decentralization. 🥚 Farm Stand: You buy directly from the producer. There are very few intermediaries between the person creating the value and the person receiving it. You know exactly where your eggs came from—and often the person who collected them that morning. 🧺 Farmers Market: Multiple independent producers come together in one place. There's still some centralized coordination, but each vendor owns their own products, pricing, and business and you still have a direct connection to the producer. 🏬 Grocery Store: A much more centralized model. The retailer decides what gets on the shelves, where products are displayed, and which suppliers customers have access to. That direct connection between the producer and the end user is largely lost—you may know the brand, but not the farmer, when the eggs were collected, or much about how they got there. This is a simple way to think about one of blockchain's core concepts. Blockchain isn't just about digital currencies—it's about changing how value moves between people. In many blockchain networks, participants can interact directly without relying on a single company or institution to control every transaction. The next time someone asks, "What does decentralization mean?" ...just think about where you buy your eggs. Conventional agriculture is causing the inflammation epidemic.
We all know that in the last five years, inflammation has skyrocketed and has been in the news almost constantly. There have been diets and meal plans all founded on combating inflammation in the body. One thing that isn't talked about enough is pesticides and residues from conventional agriculture. When considering that cost is always a factor when people are buying food, it's safe to assume that most people are buying conventional produce. And with that, they're getting a whole list of herbicides, fungicides, pesticides... And a lot of that stuff doesn't wash off in the sink. And when it's being ingested, it's breaking down our gut lining, causing leaky gut and therefore inflammation. The longer this goes on, the harder it is to heal. And once again, I think the solution is regenerative farming, organic farming, local farming, local ranches. I feel like once we get that established, then we can really talk about focusing in on nutrition and healing the rest of the body.
