Awesome job!! Any tips you can share on transferring from a bottle to cup? My daughter is great at drinking water through a straw, but still only takes her breastmilk through a bottle. I know that’s not great for her teeth though so we’re hoping to transition her! I tried the straw attachment for the Dr Brown bottles she already used and she just throws it and won’t drink it unless it’s the nipple!

@Alishah Miller Thank you! She has had sips from my open cups before and does well, but it’s only been water. I haven’t tried her milk in an open cup but those are great tips - thanks! ☺️

@Alishah Miller I’m curious about the praise too — it seems to help my daughter at times, BUT I’ve also noticed at times it distracts her from eating. Would love to learn more about this piece also. Also great job with your daughter’s eating progress last night! ☺️

Mostly ASL and sounds, but she also does an eye gaze to show us what to look at (instead of pointing… we’re working on that though!)

@Samantha Crooks She can do “help”, “all done”, “music”, and “milk/boobie”. We’re working on a few others like “eat”, “water”, and “book”, but she already loves signing. I think she’s excited that we understand what she wants to say! What other signs do you recommend we incorporate?

Hi, I’m Paige and I have a 14 month old little girl. I’m here because we’ve been struggling to get her to eat solid food and accept textures other than purées/yogurts. We had an evaluation yesterday for feeding therapy and they also found that her expressive speech is delayed, so we’ll be working with an OT on both of those. My husband and I want to learn how to best support her at home to help her succeed, and I’m so excited to have found your IG and this community!
