This is my third Ebook. The conversations we should have had. Things about growing up, understanding my body, protecting my dignity, recognizing my worth, making decisions, and understanding relationships. Things that might have helped me see certain situations differently, ask better questions, and make wiser choices. As I reflect on my journey, I realize that some lessons came through experience, some through mistakes, and others through moments I wish I had understood better. I began to wonder how many other girls were growing up with the same unanswered questions, carrying the same fears, and making important decisions without the guidance they needed. That question gave birth to this book. Before She Becomes a Woman is about the conversations that should begin before a girl is expected to navigate the world on her own. It is about preparing her for the changes she will experience, the pressures she may face, the relationships she will encounter, and the future she has the power to build. A girl needs more than food, clothing, and school fees. She needs knowledge. She needs to understand her body, recognize her boundaries, value her education, protect her safety, and know that her worth is never determined by her appearance, relationship status, financial circumstances, or another person's opinion of her. She needs to know that gifts are not proof of love, pressure is not affection, and she never has to sacrifice her dignity to be accepted. She needs to understand that saying no is her right, asking questions is not shameful, and seeking help is a sign of courage rather than weakness. She also needs to be able to manage her period with dignity. Every month, millions of girls face menstruation with shame, whispers, and too little information. For many, there is an added burden: they cannot afford sanitary pads. This is called period poverty. Girls miss days of school, sometimes weeks, because they have nothing safe to use. Some rely on old rags, leaves, or pieces of cloth that put their health at risk.
