Pratical token (cost) reduction
Besides the usual model cost analysis, there are some other venues that one can leverage to reduce the token burn. I would like to share and read practical cases, solutions that help in reducing the costs or have the subscriptions last longer.

I've played with several software solutions and mcp/skills. My use case is mainly development (code). RTK (https://github.com/rtk-ai/rtk) -> command line that compresses tool output. Can reduce over 80% of tokens sent to LLMs. Serena MCP (https://github.com/oraios/serena) -> Semantic search for code. improves accuracy and reduces noise. On the model pricing, I use a claude subscription and two routers for multiple models. Kilo Pass (https://kilo.ai/pricing/kilo-pass) -> common free models and discounts (refereral https://share.kilo.ai/mzU4AXp 50% bonus) Openrouter (https://openrouter.ai/) -> also many free models To note that in free models, they will use the data for training.
Trying to figure out a strategy for model spending
I'm on a budget. Currently spending like 20$ on gh copilot sub but they are switching to a pay per use model i think. also spending 20 on Cursor sub and I bought a block of Gemini tokens that lasted a while. I want to up my spend to maybe 200$ a month but where do i put my money? Where do you? 70% on coding and 30% assorted agentic tasks. I'm looking at direct subs to anthropic or openai, or api keys or an aggregate service. ( The next issue will be model choice strategies to choose the right one for a job, and automating that choice.)

@Alan Baljeu Check Openrouter and KiloPass. besides having great models much cheaper than Claude, there are a bunch of them that are free (with generous limits). Just use what you need for the task at hand. beware that in most free models, they use the data you send for training.

@Alan Baljeu I just got a referral link where you get 50% credit bonus. https://share.kilo.ai/mzU4AXp to lower token usage, check rtk (https://github.com/rtk-ai/rtk). it's quite good. works on any model/harness

Hi, Nuno here from Portugal. Digging through the agentic resources with an eye on bridging the physical world with AI. Happy to be here to receive and share knowledge!

Who is building their own personal AI OS from the ground up? I would love to talk to you about your strategies and frameworks you are using. Im getting started with mine and plan to scale it to be a whole team running itself with an orchestrator.
