I usually host a Chunky Blanket Hand Knitting class, but with warmer weather here, I thought a blanket would be too heavy. I started looking for chunky tote patterns online, but all used yarn i would have to buy and I wanted to make the cost and process easy. Then, I remembered the simple chain and slip stitch methods that @Roslyn Hill teaches combined with finger crochet methods and designed this tote!

I teach crochet through play projects. I use a latch hook instead of a traditional hook because it’s easy to get started that way. The first project is a flower and that is easy To pull through all the loops using a latch hook. I call it art, the crocheter is the designer. One of my kids made a bug today, she said it was a ladybird. I made 24 of these Easter Baskets for our church dinner, and placed each one with chocolates and Easter eggs.
