Looking forward to getting back into it, but also dreading it.
September is here and I am looking forward to my kids going back to school next week so I have a bit more control over my day again! My husband and I are agreed we need to get back on track with wellbeing, we are going to add walking together into our weekly routine (somewhere!) and I'm going to introduce him to mindfulness. I am a bit worried though, it's literally months since I watched any videos or followed any meditations etc on here (or anywhere!). I am hoping that I can have a fresh start and when I go to look at the lists of videos, I will be drawn to them, I will want to look at and listen to them and which ones I should watch first will become obvious to me. But I know I felt really overwhelmed with it all previously, I got to a certain point and then I just couldn't choose between them, didn't know whether to watch an education video or follow a meditation, and then which one to choose. I would look at a list and think "Just pick one, Nollaig, just click on it!" but I felt paralysed and couldn't do it. It was easier just to leave it. And now here we are in September. I did try and explain it on here and ask for guidance, but the conversations went really strangely for me, I would write what I thought I was looking for but I couldn't seem to explain myself properly, I didn't get the kind of responses I thought I'd asked for, and when I went back and read through the thread I thought I was coming across as argumentative when that wasn't my intention at all. I ended up deleting at least one post and the responses because it made me sad that I wasn't expressing myself properly. So I am hoping that I will not get so overwhelmed this time, and if and when I need help I will be able to explain properly what I'm looking for.

@Edel Flynn I can relate so much to everything you say 😂 good to know I'm not alone! Thank you for the pointers, they are really helpful and encouraging.

@Keris Marsden thanks you for the two links, you've no idea what a relief it is to have them! Also please know that I get why the live sessions are mostly in the evenings and weekends. There is no perfect time for everyone and the most important thing is you having your business in a way that works for you, otherwise you can't do it which would be very bad for all of us 😀
September Reset Time : Here's Your Plan 🌟
Hey everybody, September is here, and it always feels like a natural point to reset: a bit more structure, a bit more focus on yourself. So I've put together a Self Care Reset for the month. It's in a classroom here It has a simple planner for you to fill in, alongside a full library of recipes (with energy labels if you need), so you can build a really holistic routine for September. You can just print the planner docs alone by grabbing from here. There's something powerful about planning time for self care, protecting it and ticking things off as you go. Watching that streak build is one of the best ways to stay consistent with taking care of yourself. I'd love to see your planners filled in and pinned up, so share away. Let me know how you're feeling and the progress you're making 💚

@Joanne Bell I can see two attached pdfs - but I think they are both the same?
Feeling ‘meh’…
Not sure where I’m going with this… first of all I want to thank everyone that shares their thoughts during the natters & posting here, I never really have the words to know what to say but always relate to things other people say & the conversations always help. I wasn’t feeling on great form last night, but wanted to be on the call… My mood is certainly low just now, I feel flat & can see a pattern forming in line with my cycle, so I guess I don’t say anything as I know it will settle. But then this morning I was thinking, but you’re living this half life & shouldn’t accept this… Generally when I have felt like this before I have spoken to my mum, but as that’s not an option, I kind of just go round this loop of dialogue in my mind of the conversation I would have with someone. I have good friends I could talk to, but it would be over the phone & I just don’t want to do that. I also know I could talk to my other half but he has so much going on I don’t want to add to his stress. I feel myself withdrawing from people, not replying to messages & surviving through the day, but knowing that in a week I will feel grand… hormones are wild!!! Maybe if any of you have or do feel like this are there any sections on here that you find helpful? I have deleted my Instagram app just now as I could see myself doom scrolling to escape & was getting overwhelmed with all the things I was reading & signing up for information on. I know I need to take things back to basics & don’t need another webinar just now… Going to post quickly before I hit delete! Thanks for reading… x

@Juliette Christian It just strikes me here that there can be an imbalance in many relationships where one person (often a man!) can make exciting proprosals eg let's go on holiday, but then all the boring mundane work that has to done before the holiday can happen falls on the other partner. This may not be your situation but it's just what springs to mind when I read what you wrote. Also for so many things in life now, such as holidays and new cars and house improvements, we get messages from all around us that we need to be doing these things all the time, however the evidence is that none of them add to our happiness - the psychologist Oliver James wrote about this in his book Affluenza, when all his neighbours are getting house extensions and he and his wife are thinking, maybe we should be doing that? But then he realises that as long as your basic needs are met, more stuff doesn't really make you happier, and having a house renovated is mostly really stressful. Of course it's nice to have a nice house and a reliable car. But nearly 3 years ago I bought a 20 year old Honda CRV for £3k and it has been the best car we've ever had, and we spent so much more on cars in recent years. Most of all I don't miss all the lights and beeps that modern cars have which I just find very stressful :-) And it's much more environmentally friendly to keep using a car that already exists instead of buying a new hybrid or electric car. Sorry I am a newbie at MBM stuff so hopefully I am not going in the wrong direction here but it's just what struck me reading your comments ❤️
Hi All ,
So I have been pretty quiet on this side of Mindful Body , but I have been busy listening to all the fabulous material & practising the meditations etc and have felt calmer & have been making peace with my past . Today though I unfortunately found out I have stage 2 breast cancer, which is hormone receptive , after a couple of weeks of tests etc . My consultant is positive , and it’s crap, but I am as ok with it as I can be . That doesn’t mean I am not angry about it , and whereas before I would have suppressed my emotions , I am just letting them out . Sorry if this doesn’t make much sense , I am not too sure why I writing all this , but to be honest it just felt like it was what I needed to do!

I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but I wanted to say how amazing it is that somehow your intuition encouraged you to sign up with MBM and get so much in place in time for this news. Well done you!

Finding balance with nutrition is tricky. Ideally you intake is a balance of 👇 1️⃣ Meeting your needs with nutrient dense foods 2️⃣ Some functional foods that are not natural but are minimally processed. These keep you fuelled and make meals realistic by adding a convenience/enjoyment factor 3️⃣ Pleasure foods that you consume mindfully because they feed your soul Of course this goes out the window many times over for all of us 🫠 Approaching this with curiosity and awareness instead of guilt and shame can help you begin to walk towards greater balance. Have a listen and I'd love to hear some reflections 💖👇

I've always had an issue with eating too much sugar and while I don't really feel shame for that personally, I do feel shame because I'm a nutritional therapist and I think it could look bad. I've had great periods in my life when I've been mostly free of sugar and it was great, I didn't feel restricted, I felt liberated! But when life gets challenging sugar is always there for me. Listening to the video I was thinking I don't really notice "urges" at the moment, I'm just in a routine of buying and eating sugary foods. I could give it up again esp as my husband is always v supportive and also feels the benefits when we stop eating sugary foods on top of our normal meals, which are healthy. But I feel like I wsnt to try something different now rather than going through the same cycle again. I don't really have anything else to say right now, I'm just going to keep this in mind and keep noticing what's happening.

@Keris Marsden Yes completely, I will be doing that at some point in the future. I'm just not ready yet. Just noticing for now.
