Hey everyone, I would like to share my thoughts and wanted to have a discussion about the current state of teh market. I’ve noticed it’s getting increasingly difficult to find good and affordable sealed products with real potential. The market has exploded in 2025 – products sell out quickly, prices are way above MSRP and even (small) reprints seem to make investment outcomes less predictable. That’s why I’m curious to hear your thoughts on what sealed Pokémon products are currently the best investment opportunities in this current market. This could be recent sets, upcoming releases, or more niche items like special ETBs, promo boxes, or Japanese sealed products. A few questions I’d love to discuss: - Which recent or upcoming sets do you still see growth potential in? - What’s your view on the risks of reprints? - Are Japanese products a better play right now? - Are there alternative sealed items (like pin collections, holiday sets, etc.) that might be flying under the radar? Personally, I’ve been looking at 151(ETBS, boosterbundles), Prismatic evolutions (ETBS and bundles), and possibly some older Sword & Shield sets that are still somewhat accessible(Fusion Strike, Lost Origin, Chilling Reign, Astral RAdiance, Silver Tempest or Brilliant Stars). But I’d love to hear your strategies and opinions! I think reprints wont hurt as they used to like lost origin and fusion strike in de Sword and Shield era. They will dip maybe 20% but at what pricepoint are you prepared to pay for a BB? For me its around 150 euro for a BB (Journey and and Destined Rivals (maybe 160) In my opinion Japanese are a good alternatieve in this kind of boom market but English will always be preferred when the market is down. So i dont have allot of japanese myself (i have VStar uni and 151 bb) Looking forward to the discussion! Edit 31-12-2025 Right now im trying to buy surging sparks and twilight mascarade bb for under 200 euro. Prismatic bundels for 50/60 ish. And any bb or etb at MSRP:)

Cheapest way to get VSTAR Universe BBs?
Preferably, I would like to find a seller within Japan that will ship to my Japanese proxy address, and I would like to hear if you have any experiences with this or recommendations in terms of Japanese sellers. Anyone knowing a great place to buy? How do you get your VSTAR Universe BBs?

@Jesse Kroon Okay, that's great info to have, thanks a lot! I might look into getting a VPN in the future. I messaged one of the Cardmarket sellers that I purchased some Vstar BBs from some months ago, to hear if they were getting new supply soon. They said they were getting some this week. So decided to wait and see how the price develops on CM the following 2 weeks and then bite the bullet wether it goes up or down. I believe it's one of the best investments at the moment at the current price range anyway. Buying from Japan seems a bit too complicated compared to the marginal savings I might gain, so decided not to go that route after all.

Is now the time to buy Lost Origin and Silver Tempest BB’s?
Has Europe seen the full effect of the reprints yet? In my country, Denmark, LO BB’s dropped from 160€ to 135€ in the beginning of August and have since climbed to 145€ (shipping incl. in all prices). What do you think?

Hey, in addition to @Jeffrey Kroon's post about the lottery sales for the Pokemon World Championships 2023 Yokohama Commemorative Deck "Pikachu", this is just a heads up that you can now also apply for lottery sales of booster boxes for the new upcoming Japanese Set called 'Raging Surf'. Lottery sales application acceptance period (Japan time): August 8, 2023 (Tuesday) 15:00 to August 16 (Wednesday) 14:59 Log in to the Japanese Pokemon Center and to go 'My Page' to enter the lotteries. Pretty sure they blocked all proxy addresses from winning the lottery? Or did anyone try winning recently?

@Jesse Kroon I seems like the consensus on Reddit is that all duplicate adresses (= all proxies) have been blocked. Made to order still works with a proxy tho. But might still be worth a shot ofc!

Reprints coming?
Does anyone know if the current reprints of LO + ST + SV BB’s also will be distributed to the EU market?

@Myrte de Goede depending on what info there was, I considered selling a few boxes to fund some different things and buy again when prices dip. But for now, I think I’ll just hold and increase my position if the reprints end up hitting EU :)
